Standard country club course, boring layout
Perfectly fine golf course which was in great condition. But, a fairly boring layout across flat, treeless farmland with no signature holes that could have been located in any subdivision in America. It's worth playing if you get a good deal, but has none of the "Pure Michigan" golf characteristics you'll see at nearby Diamond Springs or Ravines.
Another Good Round
Nice early Father's Day round. Pace of play was good. The course was a bit soggy from the overnight rain. At $72, was a bit higher than normal for a round booked here though Golf Now. Usually the fee is around $58.
Worth the money!
Course was in great conditions. Greens were fast. Overall great time.
Awesome Golf Course that Tosses out some Good Deals
We played on a walking special for $35 during COVID and it was definitely worth it. The course isn't a bad walk and only a few holes have long distances from green to tee.
The layout is really interesting and utilizes the water they have very effectively. It is certainly a challenging layout, though, due to the water, well bunkered greens, and heather that lines some of the fairways.
The course was in great condition. It is maintained like an upscale country club even though they allow public play. The greens rolled pretty quick and very true even though it was wet. If you can get a deal for under $60, definitely go play!
Golf Trip
A friend and I made a two day golf trip in western Michigan and we really liked this course. We walked 18, but probably would ride if we play again. Green to tee distances are not very close. Back nine layout was a little tricky to find the next tee. Overall challenging with course layout and long grass and wastelands. Beautiful views. Definitely recommended.
Happy Father’s Day
Nice round early on Father’s Day. 7 am tee time with only two groups in front of us kept the round under 4 hours. Course in good condition.
Like this course because you have distance from the Blue tees at 6800 yards but also fair landing areas off the tees.
Would be nice if there was better service from the clubhouse regarding beverages on the course.
One more thing....
The directions to the next hole were somewhat lacking for those not familiar with the course.
Great course for the money!
Really nice, challenging course in Holland, MI that was made all the better with the greens fees being under $50 on a Monday morning. Fairways are wide, so there's room to hit driver on most holes, but there is trouble if you miss them. Course plays long, especially when the wind blows. Almost 6500 yards from the whites! Greens were firm and true, but not super speedy so you could be aggressive with putts. Really liked playing here, and with the value, would consider it maybe the best option in the area.
Phogman
Course is in outstanding condition from tee to greens.
Tee boxes are nice and they even repair divots with sand to maintain - lot of courses won’t because sand dulls mower blades..
Rough is deep off off second cut but fair and the fairways generous. Greens are primo and true with no gimmicky stuff to deal with.
Water hazards are unique in that they have shallow banks and are clean so you can retrieve wayward balls close to shore...a rare find at most courses.
While the layout is open (very few trees) the houses do not come into play, which is nice for home owners and players alike. The open setting makes it tough in the wind, however.
Staff are all top notch. Even had a mower compliment my grinding save of par on one hole. THAT never happens!
Beautiful club house and course allows walking. There are some long treks from green to tee but ‘walker paths’ make it easier.
This course is a great value to play. While there are no spectacular ‘signature’ holes, it’s a nice track that offers a nice assortment of tees to play from.
Good Course
Good course, average layout, pretty flat with large greens. Just moved to Michigan and wanted to get out a play some courses with the good weather. Round was little slow and was nothing really for food and drink...they did say they are remodeling so it will probably be better soon. Course was in good shape for early in the year. Will be back and re rate in the summer.
Great layout. Beautiful fairways. Nice greens. Everything first class
Great course!
Best fairways in the area. Greens were just punched but still were true. Tee boxes were nice and level, challenging layout but fair. Will be back for sure
First time
Incredible course. Greens very fast. Tee to green perfect. Rough will cost you a stroke. One of best courses that I have played in Michigan. I have played almost every top course in Michigan and this is as nice as any Gaylord or Traverse area course
Michigan stop
Great course, wide open, plenty of driving room, gps enabled carts, very helpful a few blind shots. Greens were great, very fast, always try and stay below the hole. If in the area, make a stop. Only downsize was the pace of play, pushing 3 hours for front nine, stopped after the twelfth hole because of the pace.
Great gem of a course
Excellent service, great shape, and great layout. Love the course and staff.
