A day at the golf course.
Played the Sundance course and I enjoyed it. Nice layout plenty of sand and very little water. Wide open play fast pace most of the course was in great condition some rough spots over all worth the money.
Beware the bunkering at Sundance
There are 121 bunkers on Sundance, and I think I found a quarter of them. Despite my pathetic game, I enjoyed playing the course for the first time since its 2005 grand opening. It's absolutely striking with elevated tees featuring nice vistas. The collection of par 3s are varied and stout.
The pizza kitchen is a great new addition. I ordered a BBQ chicken pizza for breakfast and it hit the spot before my 11 a.m. round.
July 21
Course is in great shape
Greens are fantastic
Pace of play was great
Would Have Played It Again the Next Day
My wife and I decided to play Sundance on our trip to Traverse City. It did not disappoint. The course was in fantastic shape, probably the best I have played this year. The course is challenging, but not so much so that it is not fun. My only complaint was that the sand was not the same in every bunker. Some of the sand was like a rock and other times if was really soft. I look forward to playing it again, especially once the clubhouse is completed.
FINALLY A CLUBHOUSE!!! (WASN"T OPEN YET)
My huge pet peeve with Ag-a-ming has been their dumpy trailer they've pretty much operated out of since Sundance was built in 1995. They've actually built a new clubhouse! But it's not open yet. Looked to be at least a couple of weeks away. Word from the starter they will have a pizza oven and good pizza/orange whips post round. Arriving a the bad drop for check for at the two courses (Sundance and Torch) they had just one incredibly smelly porta potty available and a complete lack of running water available. Only hot dogs and some beverages.....the guy running the concession was really nice but a pain in the butt for him to serve the golfers. Completely ridiculous. The Sundance course itself is a wonderful challenge but charging full freight with a total lack of amenities at check and the turn was absolutely unacceptable. Also $3 for a bottle of water (only water available bad move guys)...suggest you bring your own water.....Good range and practice facilities. Recommend only if the new clubhouse gets it's occupancy permit/is hope and they quit gouging you for water and greens fees. I'd call first to find out and ask for a reduced rate. Zero star amenities on an extremely hot day. 4.5 stars for the course.
Another Northern Michigan Gem!!
After reading many positive comments on the Sundance Course I decided to make the drive down from Lake Charlevoix. And have to admit upon arrival and check in was more than a little concerned about what I would find in playing the course.
No one at the bag drop to welcome players. Had to load up my bag myself. The person at the pro shop counter struggled to charge me the correct rate. No pointed me in the right direction to the range or first tee. And more...
All that said... the course was very good and very well maintained. The course played as a true links style course should play, firm and fast. Greens were cut and rolled nicely, not that fast but true. Bunkers closest to the greens had been edged and raked.
All in all a very nice track that I will visit again.
Beautiful & Challenging
Wow! Sundance. What a nice track. The greens are very fast but true. Alot of holes play short, but the par 5 9th is a Beast! Beautiful course, Great views,
Nice Course
Good track, nice, helpful staff. Good course to play on fly-out day- close to TC Airport.
Good Track, Great People
Kinda slow on the day we played, but it was Saturday. Not alot of amenities but staff was really great and accommodating. Would recommend.

Dumpy trailer to check in as usual. Build a clubhouse or go back to the original Torch course clubhouse guys! For a course of Sundance's pedigree it's a travesty. Great interesting golf course. Recommend and play it in early June of each year. Very wet but when dry it's always an enjoyable day. Savor the view of Torch Lake from the 17th tee. Cheers!
Gorgeous
Playing Sundance was a GREAT experience! The staff is phenomenal as well. From the gentleman who took our clubs to the cart, the proshop guys, and the ranger who got us off as a twosome half an hour early, this place is great. I loved the course design and conditions. The entire course was manicured so well and that is amazing given how much play this place gets. A great view of Torch Lake on a couple holes too. Highly recommended!
A-Ga-Ming Sundance
Awesome course. Can't say enough about how fun it was to play. Great condition, pace of play was fantastic and staff was very helpful.
new and excellent condition
stuck us behind a women's tournament. their pace was 5 hours. should have allowed 40 minutes for next tee time to avoid slow play. Thank God they decided to play scramble, otherwise 5 1/2 hour round.
Outstanding
Course conditions were near perfect in all respects. Fairways lush, greens fast and true. Elevation changes added to the interest. Challenging but very playable. You are missing out on a great golfing experience if you pass on this one!
