Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club
About
Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club offers a championship course where you can enjoy a private and secluded setting free of homes anywhere near the fairways, tees, or greens. Donald Ross originally designed the golf course in 1924. It has a classic layout that has withstood the test of time to become one of the area's most popular public courses. Seasoned golfers will find that the course is not the most challenging but it is good for a casual round that will still keep you on your toes. The course is tight, requiring a fair amount of accuracy. There are not many hazards but there are some and they are very strategically placed. The layout is player friendly enough to accommodate a range of skill levels and the affordable rates make Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club doubly appealing.

Nice value course
A couple of tees were moved up do to flooding. Course is a good value , enough of a challenge for most players. If you don’t hit the fairway, hard to find your ball outside of the first cut.
If only Hollywood beach GC had real greens
This course would be decent for Hollywood if it actually had greens. The greens are more like a fairway and it is impossible to putt.
Not ready
Course wasn't in good shape at all. 4 maybe 5 temporary greens due to wet fairways. Doesn't drain very well after a hard rain. Expected in some courses. Still had a good time there.
Challenging
The rough is very rough here and some par 4's are way too long for me, makes for a good challenge.
Great layout
The staff is very friendly and the off course amenities are excellent. The greens need some TLC. Unfortunately for me, it had rained prior to my arrival and with a heat index of 105°F, "Cart Path Only" was quite taxing. The course offers some interesting challenges and I do intend to p play it again. Hopefully with some improvements in the greens.
Greens are rough, sandy and, unkempt. The rough in most holes hasn’t been cut in weeks so expect some serious hunting for your ball. When I went the water as off because the water was brown, bathrooms didn’t work, no cart girl, and the bar was closed. And yet I was told we couldn’t bring a cooler with water bottles on a 95 degree day. They could do better and I hope they do because it’s a convenient place to play a quick 18.
Worst Drainage Ever!
More than half the holes limited carts to "Cart Path Only," making it difficult for older players such as myself. less than half were due to some water on fairways. Very bad drainage with ponds where none should have existed, in addition to plenty of standing water and mud. Not enough signage, as there were times when you don't know which path to take after finishing a hole. Substantial parts of some "greens" were more "browns" with large dirt areas. Balls get lost easily in the rough, much of it deep. Some areas which look like they haven't been cut in years. Summertime play here should be avoided, as daily rains will not drain quickly enough. Paying $15 for the round was not as much a bargain as I thought it would be.
Has seen better days
I have played this course many times over the years while vacationing. I played the course 5 times on this vacation. The course is in really rough shape from the conditions of the greens to the condition of the rough. I still returned to play it because it was low cost and on most days I was able to play in under 2 hours.
