East at Orangebrook Country Club
About
There are two 18-hole golf courses available at Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood, the East and the West. Built in the 1930s, the East Course is the club's original layout. While its design may be more traditional, it is just as much of a challenge as the newer West Course. The East has fewer water hazards but there are large bunkers strategically placed throughout. There are some tricky holes included in the design but there are also many player-friendly features as well including wide-open fairways and generous landing areas. Players can get their practice in on the large, lighted driving range that has both distance markers and a practice bunker. Orangebrook C.C. offers not one but two player-friendly but challenging rounds, making it popular amongst locals for being one of the area's best values.

Work to be done
Friendly staff, especially the starters who do a great job keeping a busy course moving. Tee boxes and fairways in decent shape but greens need a lot of work. Cart girl was making her rounds. Pro shop was stocked. Driving range lacks tees in most bays. All in all a decent round that can definitely get better.
I’d recommend this course at the twilight rate, if you are just interested in getting 9 holes (and a few more) in before dark, or would like to walk a course. The greens are patchy, without grass in some spots. The layout is not very challenging, either., but you can play any club in your bag.- better than an executive course. The people are nice, and if you just want to get out and swing your clubs, it’s a good value.
A local gem
Orangebrooke has the right idea. The layout of the course is well-balanced to every type of player while still providing interest to more advanced golfers. The staff and atmosphere is always pleasant. Pace of play is good. The groundskeeping can be improved, it's better some weeks than others.
Poor greens
Course located next to the highway which creates a lot of noise. Poor greens. Especially hole no 10. Looked more like a bunker. Would not recommend the course
Always Enjoy Playing at Orangebrook
I always have a great time at either of the courses at Orangebrook, and it starts with the driving range. The only complaint I have from my last round here was that the greens were not in the player's favor, but this was due to the weather from the day before. So I am not upset at all. Definitely recommend coming here for the beginner to intermediate player for a challenge.
Nice course, well maintained
Other than the course overbooking and making us wait on every single hole to play, this course was in great shape. It’s well maintained, the fairways are plush as well as the greens. I feel the greens should be a little faster but we all have our preferences. I liked that they had ball washers and drinking water on the course. Many courses have neither. Our round was 5 hours long and that’s too long. Waiting all day long to take a shot takes takes you out of rhythm. We had to wait on every single T box from 1-18. There was no ranger but I don’t believe it was due to slow play, they just overbooked. It’s all about the $. Hopefully they will stop being greedy and make it so a round takes about 4 hours, not 5. Another option is to leave more time between t times. 12 minutes instead of 10 .
Great Course
Well maintained all around with different shots on each hole.
