Picked this course by accident but I was pleasantly surprised I played the marsh/jungle and the marsh was fun to play and the jungle took most of my balls but still a good round
Good course, clubhouse is horribly outdated
I’ll never understand why golfcourses don’t invest in the clubhouse. Could bring in hundreds of thousands every year in weddings alone. Good golf course though. I’d play a lot more if it wasn’t a little ways away
Worth the trip
If you play better when you have a challenge in front of you, try this hidden gem. It has lots of elevation changes, wide and narrow fairways, water hazards and strategically placed sand. In spite of all that, if you play to the right spots, you can beat it. It’s become our favorite course in North Oakland County.
Not worth the $70
This course is not worth the $70 you pay.
Parking was an empty field right off the road. It was a free for all pretty much
The clubhouse/proshop was like a mobile home, but the lady inside was fairly nice and communicative.
Starters were two young dudes just sending everyone to marsh even when groups coming to the turn are heading to marsh. Caused a backup of 5 groups because of a slow foursome playing scramble. Then when we hit the turn to play jungle, they were sending everyone to jungle! What the actual f**k. So we were backed up on the front 9, and on the back 9. Ridiculous.
Course layout was decent but there were absolutely no signs that told you where the next hole was. Had cart paths going in and out of the woods. Too easy to get lost because of the lack of signs on the paths.
The tee boxes were disgusting for $70. No way this course should be charging $70 when your tee boxes look like that. This place must not have a greenskeeper. Fairways were nice and the green side bunker on 9th of jungle was good. Very soft sand. But the greens on marsh were rough. Some very dry patches that hasn't tasted water in years except when it rains, apparently.
There were a ton of open tee times before and after ours when we signed up on the GolfNow app and somehow we still got stuck playing behind others. This course should only be charging $40. Charging $70 is insane for what you're getting. Makes sense why there were so many open tee times on the app. This was our first and definitely our last time playing there.
Scenic fun course
Love playing this course. Interesting holes include dog legs and elevation changes and hitting over hazards and that’s what makes golf interesting.
Great Time
Had a really enjoyable round of golf. Other than goose craps on a few greens The Hills 9 and The Marsh 9 were in really good shape. The carts did not have GPS screens but were equipped with a USB port which was very helpful.
Pace of play was excellent as was the price for 18.
Will definitely be back.
Has potential
Decent course, but for the money they charge, you would expect have a paved parking lot and a nice clubhouse. Which, they have neither.
Also, they could put ball washers in every hole. I think the 9 we played there was 2-3
They did finally get new carts though. Step in the right direction
Nice course and well kept
Great course with an up north feel.
Would have given all 4 stars but driving range was closed.
Great course
Overall great course. Only downside is their range wasn't open. Have to have a range open for a course of this caliber.
Secret revealed
I was hesitant in providing this review because the secret will be out. 😉 This course is a nice hidden gem. Variety of elevation changes, direction changes, and enough areas of water and natural heather and woods give this a very much “up north” feel. You just might use every club in the bag. Staff super friendly. I cannot speak to pace of play because we went early in the season on a noticeably uncrowded day. Definitely a great value!! Will be returning for sure.
Never going back again
My brother and I got paired up with two randoms which I know isn’t unusual but out tee time was 7:16am and we waited on the first hole for them for 15 mins so we just teed off and played. The clubhouse Needs a lot of help and the staff totally over charged me. It was supposed to be 50 a golfer well she made it 70. Course is beautiful but the staff and how they allow a 13 some go out together but my brother and I couldn’t… idk seems shady and odd
