Waste of money
Pace of play was painful., 5 hour round, not a ranger on the course. Greens airated and in terrible shape. Just reminded me why I only play there once a year. NOT worth the money or time.
Often overlooked
Gem in Romulus MI.
Very friendly staff, great experience. Play here once or twice a season.
Restored Gateway
I’ve been a frequent player to gateway since they opened. It was a great course then took a turn for the worst a few years. But I will say this the staff they have right (Chris and Jim) have turned this track around over the past few years. Gateway has been in the best shape from tee to green that I’ve ever seen it all year long!! They even have a ranger fixing ball marks on the green during the day. And I have no problem waiting on the tee for him to that. Gateway keep it going. Chris and Jim, Great hop!!
Thumbs up!
The new owners are rounding the course back into shape nicely!
Excellent condition
Great place to play! Awesome for league play, fun place for an outing.
Nice course
Got great deal on golf now. Course was not crowded at all mid day. Took 3 hrs 15 min to play. Course was in very good condition and friend and I had great round and a lot of fun. Course is completely different than it was years ago. Much improved.
Gateway
Haven't played thus course in a couple of years. Still fun to play can get a little long on the back 9 with the wind.
Tee boxes In great shape greens look good.
They should charge about $60 for 18. They will get better golfers and faster play.
Course is worth it
Back up
Tee times are too close together. This backs up groups and throws rhythm. I just feel the times are scheduled to close together.
Scorecard said “Pace of play 4.5 hours”… WRONG
After a 2.5 hour front 9, waiting for 15+ minutes on every tee after hole 4, the back 9 was 3.5 hours… longest round of my life! The course said there was a “scramble” playing 9 backing everything up… on a Saturday afternoon? Ridiculous pace of play and incredibly poor management.
Course was in beautiful condition, grass was cut perfectly and greens were receptive but rolled nicely.
Links style course
Course was in good shape. Pace of play was slow, five and a half hours for 18 hours. Pro shop is under construction so Porta potties and a trailer check in.
I apologize you did not enjoy your round of golf at Links at Gateway. I did take a look back at the day and yes the round was slow. But that was due to cart path only that day and the course being wet. Through out the week we cater to a lot of senior play and cart path only will slow the pace of play down. As far as not seeing a ranger we monitor of pace of play from the club house. Every cart is GPS for speed of play. During cart path only we do not push our customers to hard because we know it is difficult for some people during this time.
As far as the condition of the greens. The greens here at Links at Gateway are bent grass. Which means in the spring if we don't have above 50 degree night time temps the grass does not grow. Since you played the greens are in better shape due to the warm weather. We believe this course is definitely worth the time and money.
