Pleasantly Surprised
From NL Canada. Been playing this course 3-4 times per year over the last 8 yrs. It's always been ok but and not great. But a couple of years ago the greens started to look green but long and was ok for money spent. Just ok
This latest round was my first of 2024. They have started to slightly cut down the greens Still slow but sooo much more enjoyable. The tee boxes and fairways are great value for money spent
It's always difficult to read into what folks give as reviews. Is it the local guy upset, the unrealistic traveler or the course staff over promoting
I can tell you I would consider this latest round my best value for money spent at a Fl course in the area the past 5 years
For the first time I actually started looking at the course and it's a fun play. Water yes, but strategic and not massive drives or irons to avoid. Nicely placed bunkers. Small and cared for. You feel like you wanna take em after you play from them. Dog legs
To the course. Keep up your efforts. A couple of greens need work but you can sense they have a plan
April 14th
Grass conditions surrounding the greens was poor. A lot of dirt and sand spots. I believe grass is being cut too short in this area therefore its starting to dry up and die. Sand traps also need more attention. Some edges of the traps are being taken over by weeds and runners of grass.
Good layout - slow greens
The course is in very good shape and it is a good layout. Not sure why the greens were painfully slow.
Great prices and a good course, just a little out of the way
The address says Lake Wales, but the course is well outside the town proper. Coming down from Kissimmee on a regular basis isn't an option, but for a course in good condition (which this is) and at these prices at this time of year, it is definitely worth the trip a couple or more times per year. It's really nice to see an approach shot release from it's landing place (especially when playing to front pins). The course is green, but not overwatered. The greens are a little shaggy, but with their contours that's probably needed. The course is well bunkered, a few of them not clearly visible from the tee will make playing to course a second time an opportunity to put what you learned to good use.
Several of the holes offer choices between playing to specific positions (which are reasonable) versus risk reward shots to cut corners. This increases the strategy element of the course.
This is a rare find in Florida, a course that is worth more than what you paid!
Indian Lake Estates
You can tell this place once the place to play. All in all the course was in good shape and I enjoyed my round. The down side the course is that there is no drink cart and the pro shop was less than desirable, not much to offer.
Nice country course
Nice course out in the country. Fairways fair condition. Lots of dog leg holes. Greens very plush so slow, took some getting used to. The pub food was yummy and inexpensive. Cold tap beer with frosted mugs so refreshing. Staff very friendly and efficient.
Pace of play was awful. Sent us out after a large group very slow. Should have had a bigger gap in time.back nine was dry, little grass. Greens were not kept up. Would not go back. Long drive and big disappointment.Lake wales cc much better for the same $$
Needs work
Fairways are in need of grass, mostly dirt and mud. Greens need grass and cut properly. Marshall's should be more proactive. At one point there was 4 groups on a tee.
Indian Lakes Golf Course
The course is better than in Lake Wales. Usually very busy so expect slower golf experience.
Fairways needs grass. Play was so slow, some holes had 3 groups waiting. Marshall's should get Play moving.
