Best Course in Michigan!

Hard to believe this beautiful course really exists, albeit in the middle of nowhere, and at such a reasonable price. There are a lot of great courses in Mi., but this one never gets old. The natural beauty (no houses on the course), the challenging layout, and the customer service make this a must play. I would stack it up against the best in The state!!!!!

BEST Course in Mid Michigan

This is by far the best course in mid michigan, if not top in the state. They have EXCELLENT burgers if you are hungry. The fairways are nice and soft, very well maintained. You almost feel bad driving on them. Challenging but fun. Would 100% recommend this. If you go after 4PM during the week andn placy 9 it is $25.

Bucks Run Golf Club

The Good: Bucks Run is a surprisingly exceptional golfing experience in middle Michigan. While not particularly acclaimed by golf panelists, this Jerry Matthews track has excellent design variety, pretty views around an old quarry, and very good course conditions. Strong Par 4's, great risk-reward Par 5's, and several tough Par 3's. Very nice clubhouse with full restaurant and bar, GPS on carts, and fun putting course island! Very nice driving range with full greens as targets. Good value for quality of course for under $100.

The Bad: Not much to complain about, yet playability for the average golfer is an issue. No 6,600 yardage tee option and lack of ample fairway space is a bummer. Green complexes are overly challenging with rough just steps from off the putting surface.

The Verdict: Bucks Run, directly put, is one of the most enjoyable rounds of golf in all of central Michigan. A hidden gem that is not talked about much, but should absolutely be a ranked course in a state with an abundance of fantastic golf.

Best Hole: Many holes are great, but the closing long Par 4 18th is awesome. The golfer is tasked with choosing how much to chew off on their drive with a long approach to a water guarded green.

Bucks Run - truly spectacular

If I could give 6 stars this course would get it. The course is challenging but at the same time fair to all golfers…just play the correct tees. Condition of the course was magnificent and views of the holes were spectacular. The greens were fast and true…no tricks just find the speed and you will be rewarded. Water can come into play if you let it but ignore those hazards and make them just visual and you will do fine. Big hitters had better be straight or scale it back some as the rough will penalize you. Keep it on the short grass and Bucks Run is very fair ad fun.
The staff could not have been better to our group. From the head pro, to the pro shop staff, starters and rangers, they were all friendly though out the day.

The Quarry Grill was our ending part of the day at Bucks Run and the wait staff and cooks and bartenders kept a group of 56 happy and well fed. That is no easy task and they handled it perfectly.

Hats off and a huge thank you to Bucks Run…not a course to pass up in mid-Michigan.

Beautiful course that's in perfect condition!

Just played Bucks Run and found it was a WAY better course than Tullymore which we played yesterday. It was a better design and in much better condition for less money.

Best course in MI?

Well to date it's certainly my favorite course that I have played in Michigan and that includes Arcadia Bluffs. The course is in perfect condition. There are no flaws at all. The location may hinder it from getting the play that other courses do but it was worth the two hour drive for me. I was able to tee off almost 1.5 hours early. I forgot the bartenders name but she was very nice and welcoming. My only regret was not trying the food. This is destination golf.

Beautiful mid-Michigan course

This was my 2nd go around at this spectacular course and it was just as awesome as the 1st. This is a course with a nice blend of tough and manageable golf holes. The conditioning is perfect and course itself is very scenic. Hats off to the staff as well, they are very friendly and accommodating. My goal is to make Bucks Run a yearly stop.

- best finishing hole I've played
