Worth the Money
Excellent course for the price. Bring plenty of balls, as the fairways are tight and if you are not in the fairway, you will most likely not be able to find your ball.
Fun course for a quick nine
This is a fun muni course. No frills, nice greens, nice fairways, pretty short, but need to keep the ball straight.
Played Mud Run many times. Course is always in great shape, play is occasionally kinda slow but that’s to be expected for the type of course it is. The staff is always Super!!
9 More Please
Please Mayor Horrigan can you please find a way to use some of the Rolling Acres property to make another 9 holes and make Mud Run an 18 hole course ? I am sure there is an innovative way to build another 9 or 18 holes maybe going up behind the 6th hole par 5 towards the old Toy R Us.
Mid October Review
Mud Run is a great little course, 2500 yards from the back, par 34. One 500+ yard par 5, three short par 3, and the rest are fairly short par 4s. The course is fairly open, but all holes are surrounded by trees on all sides. All the par 3s are really tricky and super fun, really need to know how the green will receive your ball with crazy green complexes and blind shots from the back tees. Even though the distance is short, its can play really difficult, if you miss your targets. Greens have a lot of slope and undulation, but green speeds were a lot slower than they were this summer, which made them more puttable. Usually in good shape. Its very kid friendly as it is the hole of First Tee of Akron.
Late September Review
I play Mud Run regularly with my kids, it is a nice 9 hole course. It has a modern design, very playable, and is a lot of fun. Even though it is short, it has some teeth, if you make mistakes. Greens have a ton of slope, and can get out of control if they are cut to short or get to firm. It is an excellent course to teach beginners how to play the game and understand course management. The short par 4 fourth is a great example of how angles can improve your ability to score.
The greens had not yet been aerated. The green speeds and pin placements were the most fair I've played them all summer, and the course was in excellent shape. Nothing better than fall golf.
Awesome place to learn
This is my first season playing golf and I have been playing MudRun to learn the game. The staff are great and easy to talk to. Great course overall and keeps me coming back to play.
