I have never played on such a bad course. Do not waste your time
1st Time
My friend and I live in the Villages during the winter months.I have a haphazard work schedule which has prevented us from booking tee times on the executive courses and having to resort to leftovers. This year leftovers have been scarce as there is a high volume of players booking tee times and multiple course closures mostly due to horrible greens and that has forced us to look elsewhere. That said, although smaller, the greens at Point of Woods were in much better shape than what we have seen in the Villages this year on their executive courses. We are in our 70’s,and not great players by any means.A good day for us would be a couple pars and no lost balls. The course for us was certainly challenging enough, and the price point was right. We felt the T boxes were too close to the previous green in some cases and we waited in a couple cases for fear of hitting the ladies in front of us.Fortunately for us we had a couple to follow as we probably would have spent extra time figuring out that we had to walk across the closed golf cart bridge on hole 4 to get to the T box.I had read that the course was under new ownership, and we realize major improvements don’t happen overnight. The staff we met were very friendly, and we will certainly play here again.
Mwcgolfer
Nice par 3 with various look per hole. We'll be back.
Beautiful land.
The staff here were extremely friendly and personable. The greens are small which makes for some challenging approach shots. The course winds around a body of water that can come into play often without a well placed shot. The greens were a little rough, but rolled surprisingly well. I took my 8 year old son golfing here and we had a great time together. There was no pressure from other golfers on the course, and the pace of play was great. For the price of the green fees, there is absolutely nothing to complain about l. I'd come back again for sure, and look forward to it. It was a great place to work on some short iron shots, as well as the beautiful dog leg par 4 coming down hole nine to finish.
Great course
The staff is very friendly April is great to deal with. The course is getting in better shape every time I play it.
First Time
First time golfing at Point O Woods. Met friends an equal distance away from our homes to golf.
Booked on line and got a great deal. Nice crowd of golfers and pace was excellent.
The course is friendly golf. There are a few rough spots but we found out the course is under new management by 2 young couples. Give them some time and the will make this course work. Good things ahead in their future.
Bartender/Golf shop staff member was great, gave us the story about the course.
Nice bar, dining area and well equipped golf. merchandise.
A good value for the money
Not a finely conditioned course for the discriminating golfer by any means. They seem to be working on it but definitely has a ways to go. Booked online at a cheap price. Felt it was a fair value for what it is. My wife and I had fun. But wouldn’t want a steady exposure.
Under New Owneeship
This Course is under new ownership! New Clubhouse, Resturant and we have started revamping the course! Come check it out!
Lots of potential
Appears this has been neglected for some time and in needs of a good groundskeeper especially for the greens. Hope it can come together, be a great walkable executive course.
Love this place
Fun 9 hole course, the new owners and staff are very friendly and have been working very hard to improve the conditions of the course. Definitely recommend staying for lunch after your round the food is excellent and fairly priced.
Fun course to play
I’m not sure why everybody bashes this course, it’s a steal at the prices they’re charging. The course is fun, it’s well laid out, and if you’re expecting $100 course then go play $100 course. The new owners are working hard to make this one of the hidden gems of Cittus county.
A nice, friendly course
Haven’t played in about 5 years. The course is wide open (no trees in the fairway). Probably not challenging for many, but for us, it was great, and lots of fun. We had a nice brunch in the golf shop after our round. Very helpful staff. We will make many return visits!
Under New Ownership
This course is under new ownership! There is now a full service resturant and bar! And the course has been improved dramatically! Come give it another try!
Such a fun time!
Can’t wait to come back. The owner Christy was SO nice!!! Everything you need for a good time!
I'm sorry you had such an unfavorable experience at our course. You came on a day when we had 8 straight days of rain in the evening prior to your visit, leaving the golf course soggy and unable to mow. We also were in the middle of reconstructing some tee boxes. This is NOT the normal condition of our course.
