Course is in great shape! We could not ask for anymore in terms of condition. The course is tricky( especially the greens) but everything was true.
Undulating Greens
Played after a week of rain and course was cart path only. Greens didn't seem like they were cut and were very slow. The course was well maintained from tee to green. Go to Golfnow or TeeOff to get better rate than $71.
Quirky
This is another quirky Kelly Blake Moran design to go with Morgan Hill and Heritage Creek in the area. The greens have severe undulations making them a challenge if you don't get your approach near the hole. Some of the holes just don't make sense from a design view from my 40 plus years of playing golf. It is playable even as unconventional as it is, but I would not put this on any list of good golf courses in the Philadelphia and surrounding area.
LED-ROCK
Do yourself and your golf buddies a favor and book your next round at LEDROCK! The course is in fantastic shape and you won’t regret it. Use GolfNow for discounted rates as it’s pretty expensive otherwise.
Greens
The greens were not cut, very slow. The greens are to big and to many level changes, especially for how slow they were, you almost had to drive the ball to get the ball moving. There was no ranger to keep play moving, it took 21/2 hrs to play the front nine because of a slow group, we had to skip the 9th hole to get around them and the. Finished the back in 11/2 hrs.
I got a great hot deal, so it was worth the money, would never pay full rate unless they start keeping up with the course
Absurd pin placements and they were so bad the flag wouldn't stand up straight, no need for tricked out pins on a course this difficult
Tricky Greens
Great layout and mixture of holes. Rough is a bit spotty, but the greens are the monster here. Big greens with tons of undulation.
Remains a good challenge, well maintained.
I haven't played this in a year and it remains fun to play and requires careful thought at times. More of a shot makers course which I like. Also nice looking course. Always in great shape. Bar and club house are nice.
Disappointed
I couldn't wait to play Lederach, as I always do. normally it's in fantastic condition and it's a great layout. Not today. Many Fairways have patches of what looks to be a disease. What else could it be, we just came off the wettest July on record...
the greens were bumpy and slow as well. Let's just hope it's temporary because this is a GREAT COURSE!
The wet season is causing maintenance headaches. I heard that this course had to spend 5k additional to keep insects down as a result.
Challenging track
A very different and challenging course. The greens were in great shape and had some very unique ridges and humps. A few of the holes had blind Tee shots and some very interesting fairway hazards. Staff was great and I would recommend this course to anyone other than a rank beginner.
Lederach
Course conditions were very good for a hot day however pace of play was very poor. For a Wednesday afternoon we played the front nine in just over 2 hours but the back nine took 2 hours 45 minutes. The group in front of us said the had mentioned it to the ranger but he never did anything to speed up the group slowing play. Also for a 90 degree day we saw the cart girl on the front nine but she was nowhere to be seen on the back nine.
The pace of play is a common problem here. The course is attractive but most golfers try to play it just like an open course and get penalized. Agreeing it's my biggest issue with this course. Otherwise I really like it !
Course can be tricky
Ledrach is a nice course, and was in great shape considering the heavy rain a few days before.
You really need to know the green complexes and where you are hitting the ball, there are rolling hills, and a lot of blind hazards. If you can - go drive up and look at the landing areas and where the flags are located - it can make a big difference.
For example, on #2 there is a huge bunker that you can't see from the tee over the ridge, same for a few other holes. I would also say you could play holes entirely different based on where the pin is located, number 18 is an example of that - pin in the front vs. the back makes it a different hole.
Enjoyed the round, but expect a few tricky shots when you play there.
greens are in the best shape ever
Have played Lederach many times over the past few years. We were expecting soggy conditions after the huge rainfall the day before. The only area that showed any water was some of the traps. The greens were smooth, fast and firm and in the best shape I've ever seen them. They are in better condition than any public course I've played this year by far. We played quickly in just over 3 hours which really was great for me. The staff is great here and very helpful.
Some of the pin placements were in ridiculously hard spots and the course should ease up on that . The placement on the 18th hole was at the top of a hill and you might have a 2 to 3 foot area to stop the ball otherwise it would roll 30 yds past in either direction. The 12th hole is the hardest par 5 I've ever played and that includes many of the great courses on the PGA tour. Hitting the green in regulation takes 3 massive blows with your driver and 3 wood to a blind uphill green. Good luck on that one!
Always a great round
Always enjoy playing here. One of my top 5 public courses I play in PA. We were the 2nd tee time and finished in 3 hrs. This course has a great layout and can be very challenging from the back two sets of tees. If it wasn't a 50 minutes ride I would play here almost every weekend. If you haven't played this course yet it is a must try.
I've played here about half a dozen times and it is one of my favorite courses in the area. Very different course, not many trees large undulating greens and unique holes make it fun to play. A note of warning if you play from blue tees you will have a 627 yard uphill par 5 to deal with so eat your wheaties.
quirky
Aside from being overpriced, especially for this time of year, the course has too many quirks and there are a couple of holes that just make no sense at all. The day I played the pro shop staff was totally unfriendly while the starter was exactly the opposite. It was early so pace of play was fine but conditions were not good. The day I last played the course it was overwatered and some places in fairways were almost standing water and there hasn't been significant rain for days. They allowed carts out and looked like lots of damage as a result. Greens were fine. I am not a fan of the course for design and price. Not a fan of course designs of Kelly Blake Moran on this and two other courses nearby in Heritage Creek and Morgan Hill.
Wet but still a great round
The course was absolutely soaked but the staff was great and we still had a very enjoyable round. Look forward to playing again under drier conditions.
Golf courses fit some eyes and not others. This one is just too quirky for me as are other courses by the designer. It could be in US Open shape and it wouldn't change my opinion of this layout.
