Legendary Run Golf Club
About
Golf architect Arthur Hills designed the Legendary Run, an affordable facility that offers country club-caliber golf in spic-and-span surroundings and with what management calls "the friendliest service in the world." Scottish links golf courses inspired the front nine of the golf course, which sits on 200 acres of land and features six lakes, and holes are named accordingly: Troon, St. Andrews and Turnberry, for some examples. It's a different story on the back nine, which weaves through woods and was influenced by holes closer to home, such as those found at Augusta, Winged Foot and Shinnecock.
Book two weeks in advance to ensure you get on for a round on the Legendary Run golf course, and leave your metal spikes at home - there's no reason to worry, as, conditions permitting, you can take your golf cart off the path if necessary. A far cry from Cincinnati's recreational golf courses, this one requires a collared shirt (mock, if you must) and non-denim pants (shorts work, too). The pro shop will dress you if need be.
A bonus for eco-thinking golfers: The Legendary Run counts itself among the members of the Audubon Sanctuary Program and enforces respect of the natural habitat.

Course
Pace of play was super slow because of cart path only. I think when it is cart path nonly you should give a 5 dollar discount. I did more walking yesterday than if I walked the course because of going back and forth. But I love the course and I wish it was better weather conditions.
So play
Twice this year I’ve been out there and pace was way to slow
Great round
First time at the course. Really had a great time. Played with 2 individuals that play here often so I had some local knowledge which really helped. Front and back nines are completely different which was interesting. The conditions were great. Very fun tract. Will play here again when I'm in town.
Great layout, great people, but always slow play...
I play here a lot (I live very close by) but I don't think I've ever completed a round in less than 5 hours. It's a great layout, the staff is always super friendly and the food/drinks here are fantastic. Many of the greens are beat up (typical for late summer) but overall the course is in good shape. Just wish they could fix that slow play problem.
Layout of the course has a variety of challenging holes along with holes that the average golfer can reach in regulation. The greens are fast especially if you are above the hole. Definitely would recommend the course to anyone that is interested in playing it.
Worst golf experience ever
Tee time: 3:00pm. Didn’t start until 3:10.
Front 9: 2 hours 56 minutes
Left after 14 holes: 4 hours 32 minutes
Arrived at the 5th tee 1 hour and 10 minutes into the round. Discovered we were one of 5 groups on waiting near the tee. Proceeded to sit there for 40 minutes before beginning to play the hole.
I’ve never reviewed a course. I’ve never asked for my money back (and didn’t today but should have). But this experience was so bad it deserved to be shared as a warning.
Great course
It was what I was expecting and wanting. I had a late tee time and wanted to zoom around the course. But the pace of play was slow. Several groups with kids but it was nice to see. I also was teamed up with a twosome on date night.
The back 9 was challenging and breathtaking. Wished I wouldn’t have finished in the dark. I will be back.
