Legendary Run Golf Club
About
Golf architect Arthur Hills designed the Legendary Run, an affordable facility that offers country club-caliber golf in spic-and-span surroundings and with what management calls "the friendliest service in the world." Scottish links golf courses inspired the front nine of the golf course, which sits on 200 acres of land and features six lakes, and holes are named accordingly: Troon, St. Andrews and Turnberry, for some examples. It's a different story on the back nine, which weaves through woods and was influenced by holes closer to home, such as those found at Augusta, Winged Foot and Shinnecock.
Book two weeks in advance to ensure you get on for a round on the Legendary Run golf course, and leave your metal spikes at home - there's no reason to worry, as, conditions permitting, you can take your golf cart off the path if necessary. A far cry from Cincinnati's recreational golf courses, this one requires a collared shirt (mock, if you must) and non-denim pants (shorts work, too). The pro shop will dress you if need be.
A bonus for eco-thinking golfers: The Legendary Run counts itself among the members of the Audubon Sanctuary Program and enforces respect of the natural habitat.

Best course in Southwest Ohio.
I was visiting from one of the golf Meccas in the country (Arizona), so I am particular about my golf. The cost was so reasonable, I thought the course was going to be a big disappointment. I was pleasantly surprised at what great shape this course was in. It had a great layout, nice sand and really good greens. This was one of the best non planned golf outings I have ever taken. I would play this course again in a heartbeat. It cost more to take the Lyft ride back and forth to the course than it did to play the round. It was an outstanding experience.
Great Layout Horrific Pace of Play.
This course always has a very difficult time keeping pace of play at anywhere near a good pace. I have played this course many times and it was bad last year but barely. This year it is significantly worse it took our threesome almost 4 hours to play 9 holes. I hope for the sake of the course they find a way to improve on the pace, because it truly is a great golf course layout and has the potential to be one of the best in Cincinnati.
Great course, but…
My cart didn’t work properly. The check-in clubhouse was 15 minutes with only two check-ins ahead of me. Can you say…”slow human”?
The course is one of my favorites. Just think twice before walking it. It’s a no joke walk.
Way too slow
Pace was Way to slow
4 some 2 ahead of us were 3 holes behind ridiculous
Fairways had sooo many un repaired divots which is disappointing. Greens got baked this season combined with people not picking their feet up, greens were rough. Not all, just some. All the tees on the Par 3’s were probably a few days past their prime. Very difficult to find a flat spot not mauled to place, let alone stand. Pace was a little longer than normal, but never really had to wait for a group to wait on another group. Not a long course but layout is great for all levels of golf.
Poor conditions
Not sure what happened to this track but it is in rough shape. Normally one of the better courses but not so much right now.
Legendary has seen better days
I used to visit this course fairly often but haven't played here in a while. I was always a fan of the course, the manicuring, and the staff.
Unfortunately, the course has seen better days. The fairways were soggy and clearly overwatered, and the first 5-6 greens were pitted and burnt. I fixed 5-6 ball marks on every green- not sure who's playing there but they aren't doing a good job of fixing ball marks. The divots in the fairway were bad as well. I hope improvements are made. The layout, staff, and amenities are top notch. It would be nice to see the course match that level again.
Nice layout, fun course. Average condition.
First time at Legendary Run and I enjoyed it! Nice layout with some challenging holes. The tee boxes were in terrible shape though. Very small and not even in places as most of the rest of the boxes were full of divots. Fairways not great in spots too - lot of divots. But overall ok. Greens were pretty good. But all in all, I enjoyed the course. We tee’d off at 7:30 the pace of play was excellent. No hold ups.
Slow Play/Rough Greens
3 HOURS FOR 9 HOLES…. I understand a slow afternoon, but 3 hours is unacceptable. The only thing I ask of this place is please stop jamming tee times together to get as many people on the course as possible. The course can be one of the best around, but you suffer from slow play. Also - the course early in the season was great, but greens are struggling with dead spots and ball marks.
They just want your money
Unless u want a 5 hour plus round do not play here. They just want your money and do not care about pace. When I called to book they told me 3:09 and no delay due to rain. Asked again at check in they said I was at 3:09. Went to starter at 3:00 and he said they were only at 1:21 tee time and it was an hour and a half delay, and that the back 9 was closed. Why would they not disclose that! Horrible. This place does not care about the golfer at all. Terrible service and I had to fight to get my refund.
Never going back
First they didn’t have enough carts. A common problem so we over looked that. That’s when it went downhill. After three holes we discovered that two groups ahead of us decided to play an 8 man scramble. For the rest of the round. No one from the course came out to stop them. Called the clubhouse to get some ranger out to break it up but it went to voicemail. We could barely see our shots on 17 & 18. The round took almost 5.5 hours. If that’s how they are going to run their business then I’m not going to give them my money.
