Is this course abandoned?
I played this course in 2014 and it was one of the nicest courses I have ever played. Today I played and the course resembled a shell of what it use to be. Dead grass, bumpy greens, and over grown landscapes created an environment that resembled nothing more than abandonment. I paid $30 for a course that was practically unplayable. The pro shop employees were friendly. I’m displeased to say that I will probably never play this course again.
Good value for money
Course is rather dry and dusty in many places. Greens are fast, fairways narrow. Lots of places to lose balls. But an enjoyable afternoon of golf on this course.
Was very disappointed on the condition of this course. The greens and fairways were not well kept whatsoever. This could be a very nice course if they took care of it.
Course isn't in very good shape, specially the greens. I enjoy the layout of this course, just wish is was in better shape. Fairways very hard and greens in Rough condition.
Not the best
The fairways were pretty much dirt, and there were sand traps that were full of weeds. 3 out the 18 greens were in decent shape.
GREAT DAY OF GOLF
This was a bonus round today at one if my favorite Orlando courses.
Covid-19 precautions quite adequate.
Both the fairways and greens need maintenance.
Regardless, I had a great Day of golf and my lowest round ever at this course.
Ponds and around the course need to be cleaned up! I doubt if anyone working there cares. Probably another course geting ready to close. REAL SHAME!
Good course friendly staff
Love that this course is close to my house and open! Staff is very friendly. Play here all the time
fairways thin, several greens in unnecessary rough shape, A lots of TRASH around the course i.e. bottles, cans, empty trash bags, just trash around and in the ponds throughout the course. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!
Greens are constantly improving. Great roll. Fairways are great, but a few spots need some water. Couse conditions and indicative of a caring staff.
Great day of golf
Course for the most part in good shape, a little bit dry because the lack of rain in the Orlando, FL area in the past three weeks. Greens mostly in good shape and fairly fast but not concrete fast. Overall it was a good day of golf.
They seem to be working on getting back to being a good course to play. Tee boxes and fairways are much improved (though anything is an improvement for the way it was) still much to do. Greens, about half were puttable, the rest are struggling with some fungus. If they keep at it should be good soon.
Terrible service GolfNow
Tried to cancel the booking online, and was instructed to call a 1800 number. Called the number and was informed that cancellations had to be made online. Went back online to cancel and was instructed to call the same 1 800 number. So finally gave up and paid for a round of golf I didn’t get to pay. Watch your money with these guys.
They are good people there. Its a great golf course, every hole has some unique challenge. Normally if the course is busy they will charge you. That being said you can contact your credit card and explain to them with the circumstances we are experiencing, there should not be any problem getting your money back. Everyone needs to understand canceling at this time.
Course keeps getting better. Greens still improving and rolling very nice.
FINAL ROUND THIS WINTER
Played here several times this winter. Conditions seemed to improve each time...recent precipitation helped.
Again, this course is not for the faint of heart.
Lots of water...Lots of bunkers...Good 2nd shots are a must.
14 through 18 are 5 of the toughest finishing holes in Central Florida.
After our round, my buddy and I headed to Guacamole Mexican Grill, about a half mile North on Alafaya Trail.
This little family run restaurant is superb and we will be going back there.
My Golf Buddy and I love to play Stoneybrook BUT much work is needed on the fairways and roughs.
They are getting worse.
The cart paths, in general, are in deplorable condition.
I have submitted several reviews this winter.
Nice track but needs some TLC
Whenever we come to Orlando we look forward to playing this course. We love the layout and there are some really fine holes, but the course needs work. The rough in many areas is full of weeds and several greens have significant damage, but the course is still very playable and we had a great time. The first 2 holes are weak, but after that it gets much better. Get a hot deal and enjoy your round.
