rough is just that. greens aren't back yet BUT, playable.
Greens run down
The shape of the fairways were fine. The greens well that’s another story. Wore out , brown and some greens were muddy. But my biggest complaint was the lack directions to the next tee boxes I got lost on multiple occasions.
The greens are coming along nice. Going to be in good shape this winter.
Greens getting better. Staff is great, they are doing there best.
Fun but bad course conditions
This was my first time at Stoneybrook Golf Course and while the staff, price and weather were great, the course conditions were not the best. A little more effort on the course conditions and it would be great. The staff was very helpful.
course is coming into better condition. greens are much improved.
fairways were in terrible shape. It appears as if the entire course wasn't regularly taken care of. A lot of weeds throughout and the ruffs were extremely high.
The price was super low for 9 and wasn't busy at all.
After major work on the greens earlier, they are coming back. It is obvious the crew is working constantly on improving them and doing a good job. The course really drains well in consideration of all the rain we have had.
I play Stoneybrook often and enjoy the course. They have been working hard to improve the course and it would show if not for all the rain. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Recommend this course, layout is nice and fun to play.
Worst I have ever seen
I’m sorry stoneybrook east but as a former employee to see this course this bad is just terrible. The course is so gross I will never come back. Nice tarp on roof. Maybe owner need to sell to someone that will take care of it. I guess he only cares about north shore. Guys is proshop said we have reduced our rates based on course conditions lol. You will be out of business soon in my opinion. Greens are getting smaller because if there is a bad spot they mow around it and make it fringe.
This is a goat ranch -- stay away!
To the owner: If you're not going to keep the place up, sell it to someone who will. Taking my money today was borderline criminal.
I've been playing here off and on since I moved here 10 years ago. I can remember when this course was fun, well-kept and challenging. This could be a great track with lots of TLC. There are some legitimately challenging shots to be made here.
It is now dead, like read it the last rites dead. Tee boxes are uneven, greens are arguably the worst I've seen anywhere in 45 years of playing golf (see pictures others have posted) and you can't tell the fairway from the rough, except when the rough is a foot long on the fringe (see 13th green). I've seen other courses go this way (Deer Run-Casselberry) and eventually close. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if this place did too.
Wish I'd asked for my money back.
So much potential. No maintenance.
The course itself is beautiful. Some really nice views. Lots of water. Winds through the big community with cart paths through the woods. The only downfall of this course is that it is currently in very poor condition. 16/18 of the greens have large patches missing. Miserable putting surfaces. With a little TLC, this could be an amazing course, but in its current neglected state, I won't be returning for a while.
Course overall unkept for sometime. Cheap price but don’t expect a quality experience. Money needs to spent on the course and clubhouse to bring it back to the former condition which would merit higher rates. Hopefully improvements will come soon or this course may not make it.
Played here just a month or so and it was in good shape but now greens are unplayable, nothing left to say except it appears they are following in the footsteps of Stoneybrook West...
What a shame
Today was the first day I played SB East in years. What a disappointment. Dead greens, weed infested fairways, and flooded bunkers you had to take relief from.
Stoneybrook East is far from what it use to be which was a great track. Pace of play was great because no one was on the course. I should have put two and two together when I got to the club at 1130 and saw about 8 cars in the lot.
The layout is great and is a really good challenging golf course *IF* it were in the shape it should be. Unfortunately it resembles a cow pasture that I would avoid until they can turn it around.
The course condition is horrible. There's about 1/3 of the greens with actual grass. The fairways are full of weeds and crabgrass. Lounge/restaurant are closed due to lack of business. Good course to bring children/beginners because you'll have the time without others behind you pushing you.
