Diamond Springs Golf Course, hole 10 Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/19/2019
Surprise! Great course, out away from town
Played Diamond Springs for the second time yesterday, once with hickories, this time moderns. This is a moderns course.
Really enjoyed it again, but as the back nine gets more difficult towards the end, I ran out of gas, as did our other (60-70 year old) players. As the round went along, it became more evident that the lack of food service (surprise) was a major issue. The course needs to advertise that they have no food service as afternoon tee times usually include lunch or at least a hot dog at the turn!
I will return again, but only after making sure my meal schedule is secure.
It would also be helpful for the course to inform guests about the frequent detours on the farm country roads leading to the course. If you are cutting your tee time close, it's better to know about those extra 10 minute detours!
Love Diamond Springs!
A very fun, and beautiful layout. Bluegrass fairways, so you'll have a little grass under your ball, if you like that. Wish I lived closer so that I could play it more often. One quirky thing is that the tee boxes are cut the same length, and are the same grass as the fairways. Not a big deal, but only course on which I've seen this. Back nine has some beautiful topography with many ravines - pretty cool!
Beautiful course
This was our first time at this course. It is a beautiful course, staff is very friendly. Would definitely recommend this course. We will be back to play again.
great day!!
Great day to play golf, course was in good shape. Only 3-5 greens where covered with leaves. But for Nov. 1 I'll take it.
Hidden Gem
Well worth the drive in the boonies to get here. Ground conditions were excellent. Great layout, each hole has its own scenic view. There are a number of risk/reward opportunities. Interesting tee boxes, basically teeing off as if you were already on the fairway. Reasonably priced but booked with Golfnow for a better rate. Will play again if in the area.
This course has great features
I love the lay out of the course. It is one of my favorite courses in west Michigan. The only thing I wish they had was water on the course.
Community course with big time challenges
Always enjoy Diamond Springs. It builds to 5 great finishing holes.
We loved this course!
A wonderful layout with not one building to be seen except the clubhouse. Wander through the woods but beware of the ravines. Playable and challenging for all handicaps and in excellent condition. Well worth the travel time from Kalamazoo!
Great course! Definitely a hidden gem!
Very difficult greens, really have to read them well. Isn't the longest course out there, but the back 9 have some really challenging shots as well as remarkable views!
Worth the time
A very well-maintained course, a beauty hidden in the sticks. Pace of play was excellent. The amenities were minimal but adequate. My only complaint is that the layout was confusing and hole "maps" we're not always helpful. I played by myself, fairly early on a weekday, so I had no one to follow. I literally got lost twice, and at one point actually hit in the wrong direction because I didn't know where the hole was . Still, I enjoyed the round and plan to return next time I am in the area.
great value in the middle of nowhere
second time I have played this coarse, little hard to find but well worth the trip. The focus is on golf, not much in the way of amenities, hod dogs and chips for your half way house pleasure. The course was in great shape, the fairways are wide enough with tall scrub grass on it's boundaries that are surprisingly easy to find wayward shot in. No alcohol served or able to bring in
Great Course
THis is a great course. Great mix of scorable and hard holes. Greens were true and smooth. My only problem is I lost a few balls in the Ravines.
Truly is a diamond.
Great fun course. It was extremely challenging for my skill level, a relatively new golfer, but some of the most fun I've had this summer. Everything is beautifully maintained and the course feels open and relaxing surrounded the best of Michigan's natural environment. I can't wait to return and hopefully improve my score!

Great course. Greens were n great shape. The whole course was in the best shape I've ever seen it. I highly recommend this course.
Nice course
Course is in great shape Will play again
Fun challenge
I guess we expected more after reading the reviews and having received a personal recommendation. Nice layout, great conditions, just not quite what we hoped for. Ravine are is a challenge but this is mostly mental! We just completed a short vacation where we played several courses up north in Michigan and I don't thing Diamond Springs quite matched up. This was the higher cost of the courses we played (via GN) so it was not quite as good a value. That said this was a Saturday and the others were weekday so we knew price would be higher. Would play again but would not pay rack rate.
Love this course
This one of my favorite courses in West Michigan. Or the rest of the state for that matter. The conditions were excellent. The layout test every aspect of your game with a wide variety of hole types. The holes that run along the ravine are beauties.
My biggest problem with Diamond Springs is the "NO ALCHOHOL" policy. I'm a grown man that likes to have a few beers during a round of golf. So, it definately keeps me from bringing a group of friends to enjoy a great course.
Challenging
Very challenging course...bunkers surround greens and the back nine has a ravine along the whole thing, so if you don't carry it or you slice on certain holes, see ya later...amazing value for what the course offers
