What a waste of a beautful course....
This was the first Bill Coore/Ben Crenshaw designed course in Florida that was constructed in the hilliest portion of Central Florida. The elevation changes allowed the course to show of its unrivaled character. This golf course was a beautiful masterpiece when it first opened but has since fallen on hard times. It's a beast to get to for any central Floridian or anyone in the resort areas.
While at one time it was worth the drive, it's no longer a golf course so much as a pasture. I don't even believe the course is still open - Hampton Golf dropped it from its website.
A truly sad sight to see a golf course in such disrepair.
not playable
The course was not playable, fairways had ant mounds, the club house had no phone service, and the greens were bad.
It's a fun course to play
This track has lots of charater. If you like elevation changes it's a must play.
A diamond that is primarily rough
Not mowed very often. Fairways are long. Course could be nice but not enough staff to take proper care of it.
So much potential
This course has the potential to be amazing. Great views with elevation changes and a challenging yet fair layout. However you can tell the management company is only putting the minimum revenue into the course to keep it open but not to maintain it. The pace of play was fast but be prepared to spend sometime looking for any ball not in the fairway as the rough has not been mowed in months. I would definitely play again for the potential but only if I paid around $20. Anything more than that would be a disappointment due to condition.
Awful
If you ever wanted to play this course do it soon because there is no doubt it will be gone soon. Rough not mowed, greens bad traps are overgrown. Clearly no money to maintain the facility. Too bad because it could be a good track but it it horrible in this condition. Go elsewhere. Lots of other choices in Central Florida
Head pro was a SNOB and the course was a GOAT TRACK
The pro acted like he didn't want to be there
The place is run down and weather beaten
The course was in horrible shape
Will give it another try
Great layout! The conditions need to be improved to encourage players to make the drive.
Try this course before it closes.
From the website, this course used to look spectacular. It has a great layout w/ plenty of elevation, a treat in Florida. However, it needs a lot of attention/money to get back to what it used to look like.Basically a tree lined course w/ many unique holes. Weeds everywhere: tee boxes, fairways, greens. Greens were slow. Roughs high so errant balls took time to find. Gas powered carts. Can't remember if windshield & rain cover was provided. All in all not in good shape but still fun. I think every course needs to be experienced @ least once.
