Legends Golf & Country Club
About
Legends Golf & Country Club offers an 18-hole championship course that has become one of the most popular golf courses in central Florida. The course features dramatic elevation changes, which allow golfers to take in breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and citrus groves. Legends Golf & Country Club is known for its par-3 holes, but one of the most memorable holes is the par-4 fifth hole. The hole is a downhill dogleg left with an elevated tee that provides a spectacular view. Legends Golf & Country Club has a classic, moderately difficult layout that is difficult if approached too casually but also quite playable, even from the championship tees.

Slow play...ineffective Ranger
A Value course if you have 5 hours to play...and they had a Ranger that just didn't do his job...let a threesome hold up the hole course, what are you paying him for?.....other than that, nice greens .fairways and tee boxes new some growing but you can move it to a spot...nice elevation changes but definitely not playing them down.
Overall quality down, overall price up
In fairness to this course, my title appropriately fits a half-dozen courses in this area. Staff good. Layout great. As so many say, the fairways are so thin it’s hard to even find a spot to hit a ball off a poor lie. Was okay last year, 1/2 as thick this season. The greens were good. I’d take those conditions all day. In the end, since a good game requires grass in more than just putting, it’s just not a good choice at $70+ dollars. A waste of money, really. (Ahhh, the state of golf in the Orlando area. Don’t settle for a good profit if all are gonna gouge, we should as well.:)
Disappointed
Greeters in the parking lot were welcoming and helpful. Pro shop assistant lacked personality, not rude, just not very personable. Driving range had no distance markers. Starter was personable. Price was excessive based on course condition. Expected higher quality fairways. Greens were fine and balls ran true. At the turn, the bar was not attended and the snack shop was closed. You really need a beverage cart!!!
Great layout
We play this course when we can . Ii must say this time the conditions have gone downhill in the last couple of weeks. aThe tee boxes were lacking grass and the run outs were sand. Fairways had lots of bare spots where we had to pick and place. Something has gone wrong and hopefully it will get back to the usual. We will come back but wait awhile.
Fast, true greens
Course is worth playing, not perfect but as good as most with better greens than most. Fairways are bare looking, you can safely hit taking a divot.
Nice Course
Course is in good shape, really nice design, some challenging holes
Buyer beware
The risk with playing a new course is you really never know what you’re getting until well after you’ve paid your green fee.
Let me help with this course…at $89 for weekends…it’s borderline criminal. Yes, it’s the middle of high season, but you pay for grass…a key ingredient that is missing here…a fair price, given the conditions, is $45 on their best day.
First hole tee box, standing in dirt…no grass to be found. Consistent throughout the round. Multiple fairways were mud bare…and where there was grass…it was thin, as a compliment. Plenty of disease and weeds throughout the rough lining many fairways.
And when you’ve traversed your way to the green…use the hydraulic fluid burn lines as your guide…it’s quite helpful!
If you’re not having fun yet, the cart had almost no brakes at all!!
Consider yourself warned!
Great layout, winter grass conditions
Always enjoyed playing here but conditions aren’t as good as last year. Tee boxes are devoid of grass and fairway grass a bit sparse. Greens are good, but be aware that lightning fast practice green does not match average green speeds on course.
Fast greens and undulations
Course was in good shape. GPS is a nice touch. Greens were fast with subtle undulations. Had 8 three putts in the round.
fairways were a little thin in areas. greens were excellent. very fast and true. better be able to read the grain on the greens or get ready for some 3 putts!
Legends
Greens were firm, playable, and quick. Fairways were just ok. I strictly play hit the ball as it lies, but even in the fairways it was tough to do here as the grass in the fairways was sparse. Tees were mostly sand, very little grass, at least on the white tees which is what I played. I would play again specifically because of the greens, not so for the fairways or tees.
Good Value - Awesome Layout
Have played 3 times this winter. Fun layout with lots of elevation and some really exciting holes. Greens and bunkers in awesome shape, fairways OK but not amazing. Staff friendly and beer reasonably priced $5 on the cart vs. $10.15 at the “Other” ridiculously priced Legends course.
Compared to the other Orlando area golf courses, this is priced very well, which is kind of an oxymoron as all Orlando area golf courses are priced beyond insane since Covid. Probably my last venture to Orlando after 15 years. 20 rounds here equal my season membership at home.
