What a Gem !!!
This is one of the best lay-outs as well as being just a beautiful walk or ride through nature. Some areas of the course could use a little help , but all in all you will NOT be disappointed with this place. Rolling fairways as well as the greens and many spots to tuck the pins made this one of our best places to play. I can't wait to go back.....don't just pick at the small things that bothered you but look at the whole picture and you should be .....o you will be impressed . I and my foursome had nothing less than a great day.
A scenic challenging course
First time playing this course. My wife and I were on vacation in Florida. Unfortunately Florida was having a cold spell! It was pretty chilly and windy that day. I would like to give it another try sometime when the weather is better. It is a beautiful course and quite challenging. Fairways could use a little work.
Great Track,
This is a tough, well designed golf course. Unfortunately, they struggle to maintain the course at a level that many would like. I understand they have a new superintendent which I hope will help. One other point of interest was the pin positions on several of the holes. Some were placed inches from hills, some on the side of hogsbacks. I made sure I told the superintendent about the placements and he immediately went out to check them. This could be a heck of course if they will maintain it.
Fun course
This is a fun course, challenging layout. It will test your skills. Staff friendly, no beverage cart & at the turn the restaurant didn't have anything ready yet. Pack your own sandwiches. Otherwise it was good.
Thanksgiving Golf Day
I took my son here on Thanksgiving. They were only open a half a day but did not rush us at all. they allowed us to take our time and enjoy the play. Thank you again. The staff is very friendly! I have also reviewed this course before and left a much more lengthy review. Check that one out as well. Great Course!
Eulin Gibbs
This is a very challenging course from the blue tees. You must be accurate off the tee or you'll be in trouble. There are many strategically placed bunkers. The staff is very friendly and courses very good test of your shotmaking skills. I highly recommend it.
Fast..Fast..Fast
Undulating greens that were rolling very fast on day of play. Pins were placed in tournament positions. Can't say our group was pleased with the hole locations. Very good layout & conditions were good for time of year.
An excellent layout in great condition. Go play!
We enjoyed our visit to El Diablo and recommend this course to players of all levels. Big improvements have been made to the greens and fairways, but the traps, and especially the bathrooms, need some more attention.
Has good Greens but could use some work.
Fairways are pretty rough and the grass was mowed way too short. Bunkers could use some work-the sand is packed down.
AWESOME!
You need to be able to hit the ball straight. This course was so much fun. Very Challenging and will not disappoint. I have only been playing golf about 1 year. I play pretty regularly and this is by far the best course so far. I have told other more experienced golfer friends about this course and one of them said he did not like it because it is very narrow off some of the tee's and you have to hit the ball straight. If you are going out there to score good, you might have a hard time. This is a fun course! My main goal was to use the same ball through the whole game. Mission accomplished. Even the greens keeper was impressed by that one for that being my first time out there. Great course!
new management improvements being made
greens good, tees reseeded.
trees being trimmed
course in good shape and getting even better
hit it straight as most fairways are tree lined
Not what it used to be
I have golfed here several times in the past, and the course was very well-maintained, but that was the past I guess. The drainage is horrible, plenty of soft spots on the fairways and near the greens. The greens were ok, but definitely need attention, and played extremely slow because of the poor drainage, so keep that in mind if you play here. Should be a $10 per person course, definitely not up to par with other ones for a cheaper price.
Great value, challenging course, fairways need some trimming, not so friendly to women golfers.
The course was not in the best condition. The greens were very nice, some burnt spots and playing slow, but smooth. The fairways were over grown and looked like the first cut of rough. The staff was friendly but every one of them managed to insult my wife who is a former Division 1 college Golfer by assuming she was a horrible player and constantly telling her about the new tees that were up ahead in the fairway for "when you get tired of playing the ladies tees." Only after the ranger watched her tee off for a 250 yd drive did he shut up about the up front tees. Learn some manners.
Challenging course that requires much attention.
Informed by several golfers during outing in Leesburg that this is must play course. Traveled 101 miles to play it & was disappointed. Expected a picturesque, tree lined, & well maintained course. For same price the week prior, I played a pristine course (Highlands Ridge North course). El Diablo had very shabby tee boxes. Fairways carpeted but not mowed or the grass that didn't belong grew much faster. The roughs were thick & rough when but still many bare areas also. Balls easily lost in rough & difficult to find. The greens however were in great shape, rolling true & fast. There are some elevation changes but pretty much a typical Florida tree lined course. Carts have windshields & rain cover in back.
Great value with Groupon.com purchase
Right from our arrivale, to after lunch in the course restaurant, we had a great time. The chicken tenders were outstanding. The course is tree lined on most of the holes, but we got friendly kick-outs when we strayed. The greens were great also, fast and true. This course is on our replay list.
A challenge for everyone
We played the course on a very hot (91) Friday afternoon.
The course is in very good shape, except for some teeboxes that need a little more grass. To us (high handicappers) the course is very much a challenge because of the very many bunkers that you want to avoid as much as possible. Given the number of them, you're bound to end up in some of them anyway.
This course makes it an absolute requirement to really think about where you want to play your next shot. If you misjudge or make a bad shot, you will easily end up with a bunch of bogeys.
A very interesting and for Florida standards difficult course.
Very well worth the money and the drive.
