The Ridge Golf & Gardens
About
The rolling countryside occupied by The Ridge Golf & Gardens (formerly known as Buck Ridge Golf Course) provides an ideal landscape for a round of golf. The nearby farmhouses add to the course's rustic appeal. The layout closely follows the natural contours of the land and trees, ponds, and landscaping were tactfully added to blend seamlessly with the natural terrain. There are a total of five ponds, which come into play on eight holes. A number of bunkers are strategically placed around the large greens and there are also rough areas to watch out for. Although the golf course is relatively young, the skillful use of the mature trees makes it seem as though it has been around much longer. The eighth hole, the layout's longest par 3, is one of the toughest. It plays directly over water to the right side of the green. Before playing The Ridge Golf & Gardens, golfers can warm up on the large practice green.

Underrated course
This is the first time I've play Buck Ridge in over 10 years and I was pleasantly surprised. It was in pretty good shape. The bunkers were sort of packed down, but we had received nearly two inches of rain the night before. The course workers need some refreshing on course etiquette. We waited nearly 10 minutes for the mower to mow the 2nd green while we stood in the fairway, and two more groups backed up on the tee. Other than that it was a pleasurable round, especially for the price. I will play again.
Great course
I live in Gahanna, so the drive out to Marysville to play this course is a little long, but it is definitely worth it.
The front nine only plays about 200 yards longer on the front side, but you definitely notice it. The back nine has at least two or three par 4's that are under 335 yards.
The tee boxes are in decent shape, the fairways are decent and very fast, and the greens are pretty challenging on some holes (I thought the greens on the back nine were more difficult).
My only complaint would be the girl in the clubhouse. She had a little bit of an attitude and gave me a strange look when I said I wanted to walk the course (yes sweetie, people who are able-bodied and not lazy do actually walk golf courses...). But if that is my biggest complaint, then the course and the overall experience must have been pretty good. I'd give it a solid B+ grade.
Out of Towner
Played the course for the first time while on a family vacay. I was solo and first one off in the morning so I was able to fly through. Course had some noticeable rough patches but if you hit the fairways it's not an issue! Greens were slower but it was damp that morning. Adjusting was easy.
Great value and pro shop was very friendly and accomodating.
Beautiful Course
I loved this course. Some difficult tee shots, long par 3's and par 5's, fairways and greens are 1st class, all 5 minutes from Plain City.
Nice
Nice course for the value, but I wish they still had the bunkers and that they have reclaimed.
Fun round for the price
The course itself is fun and offers a nice relaxing 4 hour round. There are some tough holes and some par 4"s that are driver--sand wedge.
There's some obvious financial problems here, as the bunkers are overgrown and the carts are marginal.
The course has held up and the greens are good. I hope they can survive this rainy year with so many rain outs.
Nice people, fun course. Great location from NW Cols.
Good course but do they care about anything else?
Liked the course and the people who worked there but the parking log, cart paths, club house and bathrooms were not good at all. Price was right and layout was good.
Enjoyable fast morning round
Buck Ridge is a fairly open course that was in good condition especially considering the recent rainy conditions. Because of a senior "league", I had to play the back 9 first. Because of no practice area, it took a few holes to warm up. AREA FOR EASY IMPROVEMENT - add some basic yardage markers either on sprinkler heads or 150 yd markers / disks on all holes - not just a few. BUNKERS have no sand - mud bunkers !
Good Value
For the money, it's a good course. Some bunkers need work, but greens and fairways in great shape. Played mid morning and finished in 3 & 1/2 hours with 3 players. Would definitely recommend this course.
Cart on the green!
Outside the ridiculous 2-some that took forever and even drove their cart on the 10th hole Par 3 green, it was a pleasant experience.
Friendly staff, very reasonable pricing and the landscape was great.
Good Greens, Bad Bunkers
The course was is rough condition especially when it comes to the bunkers. Basically all of the fairway bunkers were grown over and the traps next to the greens were full of small pebbles and rocks. The fairways were a little long, but the greens were in great condition. Buck Ridge is a fun track to play on for the right price, but just lift and drop out of the bunkers.
1st time
Pleasant experience I would definitely say for 26$ it was a great price. The sandpits were great but the green seriously need attention a lot of just dirt patches on greens . Could use some updating.

Buckridge has a great layout and a good value as well. Pace was great. Greens rolled nice. Only down side no range.
Enjoyable even in the rain
The front nine is challenging with water in play on several holes. Nice combination of relatively flat holes with holes that play uphill and downhill as well as over hills. It was my second time playing and I was not disappointed.
Such a great layout, lacks maintenance...
I wish this course was in better shape. It would be a gem. The greens are burnt in too many places, bunkers don't have sand with too many rocks. Some bunkers are just dirt and grass. Fairways are okay, but only because they're playable. Glad I only payed 14 hot deal. Wouldn't pay a penny more. Cart paths are gravel with a ton of large dips.
What a shame!
Used to be a nice course. Absolutely horrible condition. Played hot deal for $12. Couldn't pay me to play there again.
course in terrible condition
You get what you pay for. The course was in terrible shape. Weeds everywhere including the fairway. Greens had burnt spots. It's early May, how do you have burnt greens.
Have to hit them straight
Good challenge for the average golfer. Well worth the drive very quiet out here in the sticks. Friendly staff including grounds keeping crew make for a enjoyable round of golf.
Good value golf
Played on 5/7... Was not a hot deal but was a great deal anyway. Fairways are in great shape. Bentgrass tee to green. Played in 3 hours 15 minutes in a threesome but the be fair we were first off the tee. Rough was thick and penalized an off shot around the greens but not bad if off the tee. The bunkers are getting better but need to have the rocks taken out. Greens were in pretty good shape but others need to repair ball marks. The areas between holes had some clover and dandelion but none in the playing areas. For under $20 a great deal. I will play here again very soon.
Still waiting for improvement
Rumor was this course would be a Tour quality course at some point...still waiting. Tear down the barn already! Build a suitable clubhouse. A range would increase tee times 10 fold.
