About
Windy Knoll Golf Club is known among locals as being one of Springfield's best public golf courses. The course was built in 2001, though you would not be able to tell from its traditional links design. It manages to be a classic links golf course while still being a challenge. The site was originally a horse farm and the design incorporates some of the features from the terrain's former use. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are trees and rough lining the fairways. Golfers will find many risk-reward opportunities on the course, one good example being the par-4 eighth. This hole plays into the prevailing wind and if you miss your drive, you may find yourself in one of the eight bunkers surrounding the undulating green.

Never Disappoints
Windy Knoll is one of the best courses around for convenience, value, and quality. The course is always well manicured and the bunkers are playable, unlike many Ohio courses.

A lot of geese
Course was great other than an influx of geese. I was afraid I was going to hit one as there were many more geese than usual at this course. I saw a couple of them limping so I assumed they got hit. We stopped counting at 65 of them on one hole. That many geese also leave a lot of poop behind.

Love this course
Play here about 4-6 times a year. yesterday the course was perfect. Rought was a little long, but it is what it is. Fairways, fringe, and greens were immaculate.

Excellent As Always!
This has to be a Top 5 Course in the Dayton area- probably even Top 3. Always in great condition for whatever time of year. Beautiful course and layout is fair but very challenging. Greens have multiple undulations- VERY fun and make you really think. Played here multiple times a year for the last several years on weekdays and never had an issue with pace of play. An absolute must-play in west-central Ohio!

Need a Ranger
Booked as a twosome and was paired with a married couple. The first tee was stacked 4 groups deep upon arrival (mostly elderly gents) and after putting and chipping for about 20 mins we headed to the tee and only 2 of the 4 groups had teed off. Waited another 20 mins til we could finally begin and it was a snails pace from then on. Round took 5 hrs and 20 mins to complete. I'll come back because I enjoy the course, but they definitely need a starter and a couple rangers to keep the pace.

Great layout/conditions
This is my favorite course in the Dayton/Columbus area. I try to play every time I get home and it never disappoints. It's challenging and always in fantastic condition. If you are in the area, it's a must play.

Course was in great shape and greens rolled true.
Plenty of dog legs and well placed hazards to challenge accuracy off the tee and on approach. Quick greens that can be a challenge to hold and pace more important than line while putting. Overall a very fun layout to challenge any golfer.

Needs Bunker Attention
Bunkers could really use some work. Very hard surface and have not been raked. Pin placements were brutal but other than that the course is decent.

Great Course
Challenging but great course. Everything was in great condition, tee times 8 minutes apart could cause pace issues but not today. Will be visiting from Columbus again.

Great Course for the Price
The course is one of best looking in the area. Greens, bunkers, fairways, and tee boxes are all well maintained. The tall grass just in the out of bounds areas add so much to the beauty of the course. It is definitely one of the tougher courses in the area, with the rough being true “rough” and fairways being thin. Lost a lot of balls but enjoyed every minute of it! Highly recommend
