NorthStar Golf Club
About
NorthStar Golf Club measures out to a whopping 7,351 yards, which makes it one the longest golf courses in Ohio. The layout covers over 350 acres of woodlands interspersed with 21 ponds and three rambling creeks. Water is definitely a prominent presence on the course but there are also 41 sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. Being such a lengthy golf course, long hitters will have a chance to shine but sharp short game skills and accuracy are also vital to getting a good score. The versatile NorthStar layout is made even more playable with five different sets of tees that accommodate golfers of all skill levels. The semi-private course is open to guests everyday and the club offers all the extra amenities of a private club including an expansive heated pool and two tennis courts.

Great, unique course layout
The course had a good mix of links style and american style golf holes
Great course if you can get a deal.

A very good course and fantastic bargain!
Northstar is a very good golf course. This John Cook design has everything you want, long par 5's and par 3's, and a couple short but challenging par 4's. The greens were in nearly perfect condition and the surrounding scenery was as good as it gets for central Ohio. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I went out as a single and the starter gave me the choice of going out early to get ahead of a couple of foursomes or take my time and go when ready. I will definitely play there again.
Interesting layout. Challenging but not punitive.
I enjoyed this, my first round at Northstar. I played mid-day on Thursday, and there was no one in front of us during the round. I was pleased that despite the proximity to Interstate 71, it was very quiet on the course. At present, there really are no homes on the course either, so the environment is mostly very natural and pleasant. My playing partner and I played from the white tees, and the other two in our foursome played from the blacks, which gave us an opportunity to see how much difference there was in challenge.
I heartily recommend adding Northstar to your play list. I'm looking forward to playing it again. There are some surprises out there for the unfamiliar, and there are several holes i will play differently next time around.
Great track. Full of challenging holes
A course that separates itself among other public courses in the area with quality design and surroundings.
Challenging and beautiful course
NorthStar is a great new addition to the courses in the Columbus Area. It's a challenging course, and plays very long from the back tees. The scenery is absolultely beautiful, and you rarely see anything but nature while playing the course.
The greens were smooth and fast, just as I like them. Watch out for #2 though, it's the narrowest green I've ever seen.
Price was decent with the golfnow discount.
Overall great course.
Very nice scenery and some tricky holes
The course seemed well maintained. A lot of raised greens, which made for a tough course. As stated by others, the greens are super fast. There was a lot of great scenery and seemed almost like a "resort" atmosphere.
great course. course was in great shape.
Neat course. Wide fairways. Greens were in great shape. Challenging layout . Tips play 7500+ yards. Will definitely be going back.
Nice greens
Some of the best putting greens I'v played. They don't hold real well and the overall course was fair condition. The issue I have is there is no signage or hole information. The yards markers are few and far between. There is no way if you have not played the course to know how the hole plays. No starter to help either. Overall was in good company and enjoy the true roll of the greens.
Great Course...Great Value
Challenging but rewarding course. Green were very receptive and well maintained. Entire course and grounds are well worth the drive no matter what the distance.
Great place, poor conditions
Lay out and amenities were beautiful, however the greens were showing signs of burn out and the fairways were all pretty chewed up or had signs of poor drainage and were dead in spots.
Very nice course, has interesting layout.
I have been wanting to play this course for awhile now. I was very pleased with the layout and conditions. Greens were a little rough due to aeration. Still very enjoyable!
shaggy greens,but overall good zhape
First time here. I played a combination of white and gray tees. My wife played red tees. No real memorable holes, very repetitious. Most holes are wide open, huge fairways. Some hidden hazards, not clearly illustrated on scorecard map. We played for $26 each through golfnow. That seemed about right but we wouldn't pay the $45+ regular price to play again.
Ok, I know, don't go out as a single on a busy Sunday morning.
Very good course design and condition. However, as a single, do not presume to get paired up when purchasing a last minute Sunday morning tee time. Call ahead. I expected to be paired up for a fun round. However, Club Members made up the rest of the group and they did not want an outside addition. Was told I could wait a while for the next opportunity or play as a single. (should have left then and ate the Golfnow fee) But no, I went off as a single. Quickly caught up to multiple foursomes. Played through a couple groups, waited around a lot and called it quits on #12. Pro shop kindly offered the unique 7 hole credit for my next round.
The ony reason I did not rate the course and value as Great / Excellent is that the greens were just airated. Other than that, a great layout.
Great layout and super frienldy staff. Course was a little dry in spots and the greens were just aerated.
Good layout
I've been in the golf business for 20 years and have never seen such a lack of professionalism and customer service as I did today at Northstar Golf Course. When we walked into the pro-shop the guy behind the counter looked up from texting on his cell phone and rolled his eyes at us. After standing in front of him for a few moments he took a break from texting to check us in for our tee time. At no point did he ever tell us that they had aerified the greens or that they were going to be shotgunning a league on every hole during our round. Being in the golf business I understand the need to aerify the greens. What I don't understand is why you would not tell your customers when they make the tee time or when they are checking in for their tee time that you have aerified the greens 3 days earlier. And I have no clue why you would shotgun a league onto every hole without telling your open play that you were doing so and that they needed to be finished by a certain time. I think it is a shame that such a good track is being run in such a unprofessional way.
This course has potential.
The greens were on the small side and had just been aerated. As a result they were hard and sandy. Otherwise the course was nicely groomed and well planed. Will play it again after the greens have had time to recover.
Sand in bad shape
Overall, the course was in good shape. The traps hadn't been raked in days - not what one would expect for the price.
Wonderful day
Beautiful course.... very challenging holes and a great day on the golf course. A gem of a course right off 71.
