The Links At Lighthouse Sound
About
The Links at Lighthouse Sound is an Arthur Hills-designed golf course that covers a scenic and varied terrain. Hills took advantage of not only the beautiful views afforded by the course's location right along the Assawomen Bay, but also the natural diversity of the terrain. He routed the front nine along the bay while the back nine borders the St. Martin's River, through mature hardwoods and pristine marshland. The golf course is home to the longest cart bridge in the country, stretching almost 1,500 feet to bring golfers from the bay-side holes to the marshland holes. It is also the only course in the U.S. with five consecutive holes playing to the same double green. The signature hole is the par-3 fifth, which requires a carry over a marsh to a nearly island green bordered by water on three sides.

Great shape. Spectacular views, as always.
Played almost 18 with a buddy. Course was immaculate. Fairways ran for days and the greens were nice and fast. We got paired up with a couple characters that slowed us down a ton; so only finished 16. Oh well, not the course's fault. Everyone should play this course at least once while in the area. Their restaurant has okay food for the price for dinner. Lunch is a much better value.
Golf in MD on 2 January
Who would have thought you could play golf in Maryland on 2 January. Weather was great for time of year, Course in great shape. Only nit would be unfilled divots in the fairways. Greens in great shape, rolling true. Course with great views of the water and OC coastal highway skyline. Hope to return in the spring/summer 2015
The Must Do course in the Ocean City Area
Lighthouse Sound is one of the top 3 courses in the Ocean City, MD area and it is definitely a must play during your visit there. The setting is spectacular with many holes overlooking or bordering the bay and incredible views of the Ocean City skyline. The tee layout offers a variety of challenges to accommodate almost every level of golfer. The clubhouse and pro shop offers excellent amenities and friendly staff.
Oh.. and the course conditions are always excellent. When you play the course, you will find that the front and back nine are completely different style courses. Open front with incredible views, much tighter back nine with lots of diversity in the hole layouts and no shortage of sand, marshes and water. But very accommodating from the white tees.
The one drawback...it can be very expensive. We generally play Lighthouse Sound as a guest of a member or when we can get a great rate via Golf Now however, it is well worth the price to experience the course once, even if you can't afford to be a regular.
Greatest Golf Experience in MD!
Best views on the Bay... Excellent course conditions even off-season. Friendly staff and a great customer experience. I will be back every chance I get.
Very nice course
Played on a cold day but course has covers on carts and was in great shape
Ocean City GEM.....
Hands down one of The Best Courses in the Delaware / Maryland Area.....We played on a somewhat chilly day in November and the course was in GREAT condition...Besides the course itself, The best amenity Lighthouse Sound has is Cart Covers....It was a little chilly and windy and This made our Experience so much more enjoyable. Every course is the area should invest in covers. A definite must this time of year down there and a definite money maker for the course...We will play there every time down to O.C. just because of this...
Perfect fall golf
Saw this course listed on a hot deal and jumped on it.
Got to the course a little earlier than my tee time and was greeted by a friendly staff in the pro shop. Since it wasn't overly crowded I went out early and had an awesome day. Course was in pristine shape and the greens were rolling fast. The nice weather and scenery made it a perfect day. Great value in off season with no crowds.
Superb!
Everything about this place is first class...and you get what you pay for. Course conditions were excellent. Staff friendliness and attentiveness were excellent. Practice facilities superb. Pace of play was great and this is a course where the marshals do more than just look; they interact and keep things moving. Don't think we went more than three holes without seeing a marshal/ranger. Great GPS on the carts. Steep price tag for weekend play but worth it.
Lighthouse Sound
Fantastic must play course in the Ocean City area. Good choice of tees to make your experience a fun day. Be prepared for a slower round .
Love lighthouse !!!
We have been taking a golf vacation to o.c. For 20 years now and we always have to play a round at lighthouse !!!
The holes around the bay if the wind is kicking up are very challenging....take an extra club or two!!!
Beautiful layout and views across the bay !!! And of course the longest cart bridge in America.
Beautiful Course
Great layout, spectacular views of the bay. Fairly challenging. Great collection of differently designed holes from fairly easy to very difficult
Better the 2nd time around
This course was so much better when the weather is warmer. In 2013 I played this course in the 1st week of April and it was so cold, windy and miserable, I couldn't enjoy the course, this year at the end of August it was nice and warm, still windy on some holes ( it's right by the water) I couldn't believe how beautiful the course is. The view on some holes are almost like Atlantic City CC.
Wow
This top notch all the way. The layout, condition, warmup facility and scenic views are some of the best around. A must play. Choose the right tees as it is very windy but also somewhat on the short side from the whites and blues.
Aerated
Despite the aerated tee boxes, fairways and greens, the course is great and so are the people. Had a great time. It was windy but it usually is on this course.
what a view!!
this course is worth playing, to bad for us it had just been airated..
will go back!!
Top track on the Eastern Shore
What is there to say about this course other than it is awesome? From the moment you arrive and see the bridges spanning the wetlands you know you are in for both a treat and a challenge. The practice facility is nice (they let you hit off grass). Tee times run pretty smoothly - we actually got off a few min ahead of schedule. GPS in the cart is a nice feature as you have to play many of your tee and approach shots carefully because there is loads of trouble on this track. The wind was up when we played which made the course play a few stokes harder. Great round. I will definitely be back.
"Fantastic Round"
I was on vacation and told I had to play this course.
Got a mid morning tee time and got there early. Had a fantastic time warming up on free range and chipping area. The staff was very friendly and made it a pleasant experience. The course was in fantastic shape with large fairways and fast and true greens. The views where spectacular during the whole round! A must play when in OC!
A must play
The jewel of Ocean City! There is not much you can say but positive about this course. The beauty that surrounds each of the holes, course conditions, friendly staff, the practice facilities, club house....all first class - you can see why it it rates so high. The only negative I experienced was not the fault of the course, there was a guy blasting his music from his home on a hole.....but there are so many nice quite homes and peace on the course that this was a rare event.
Fun course pace was not ideal.
Had a good 8:24 tee time and two members to play with. Fairways were very good, greens were good, a few were pretty beat up from use, tee boxes were the same. Par 3 10th box looked like bomb zone. Staff were excellent and practice facilities were very good. I liked the unlimited range balls with your round as opposed to others in the area that just give you a small bucket. I would return if the opportunity presented itself but they should think about trying to monitor pace a bit. Not sure if it was play or course set up but it could have been better.
Nice Course
Course was in fantastic condition, greens look faster than they really are.
