PERFECT FOR US
We are just a couple of "Old Duffers" who love to play- this is a very pleasant course, staff is lovely, as are any of the other golfers we come across - nothing to "not like" about this course - except that it is too far away from our home - NOVA SCOTIA.
Be sure to come our way to play in summer/Fall, we have some beautiful courses - some right in the tops of the ratings - for those looking for that!
Nice course for the money
If you can get a good deal on GolfNow this course is good.
Nice course
Nice course for the money. Greens are in good shape. Tee boxes fair and the fairways could use some love. Nice layout, and for the price a good deal.
Good Value
An enjoyable round of golf. Played mid morning as a twosome, finished in 3 1/2 hrs. Greens are in good shape, fairways and tee boxes are looking rough. Friendly staff, Pro Shop has some good deals on golf balls..
Nice Hackers course
I like this course, 2nd round here. Greens are in real good shape. Tee boxes and fairways need a little love but they are working on it. Love this track for the money.
Pleasantly surprised
I've been looking for a course for a hacker like me and I think I have found it. This course is wide open with decent tee boxes and fairways plus beautiful greens. With a GolfNow price of $25 it is right in my wheelhouse. Enjoyed the day and cannot wait to play this course again.
Good Value
Not an over challenging coures - very flat, but it is Florida and the next closest course is about 25 miles away! Decent tee boxes, good greens and typical FL fairways (hard, dry) but good value and friendly staff!
Very nice course
Nice and easy course layout .
Very friendly staffs.
Chiefland CC
Chiefland CC is a great place to play. The additional staff just brought really shows and the course has a beautiful layout.
We played 2-3"weeks after the hurricane and some small cleanup was still taking place.
I can't wait till the rye grass is established for som exceptional golf this winter.
The staff is always friendly, they were getting ready for their annual tournament, fixing bunkers and of course clean up from the storm, but thevstaff was very courteous. My go to course all the time!
Waste of time
Showed up early and the lady at counter was very friendly let us go right away.
when I got on first tee you could see why course was empty. Fairways unmowed with large areas of weed patches. got to first green and more dirt than green.Greens had been punched and sanded. nothing was said about this at check in nor an alert at time of booking. by the time we got to the 8th hole they had applied more sand to all the remaining greens making them un- puttable. I understand that these things need to be done but lower your rates while course is in the process of being made better. would not return here or recommend to anyone
No consideration
We booked online, arrived and we were told they were plugging front 9, we would have to play back 9, We get to 16, 7th hole of our first nine to find they are now plugging all of them, At the turn we talk to the lady, ask if we can get a rain check, she says no way since we booked online, front nine is now open, even though the greens are plugged, we attempts that, asked to call manager to check on rain check, we couldn't, not happy with results.
Fairways great shape
We love playing here even with a 50 drive from CR. Pace of Play is usually good for a two some. And the people who run it are so friendly. Brian sat and talked to us for a bit. We always feel welcomed here. They are working on the problem greens and continue to make it a great course.
Much Improved
Course is in good of condition as it’s been in quite awhile. Couple of greens still have some issues but compared to where it was even 2 months ago much improved. They’ve had a really good growing season.
Chiefland
The Chiefland Golf Course website describes a beautiful, well-maintained course. They must be talking about when the course was first opened! Tees, Fairways and greens are all in the same condition ... terrible! The forward tees were often markers in the fairway. The Fairways were filled with weeds. The greens were shabby enough that we gave a 2 putt max on each. The course is barely worth $15 but people are willing to pay $40 because it's the only one around. We won't be back.
Chiefland, Florida, course conditions
Conditions were disappointing: greens were being aerated and sanded even as we tried to play. Greens on the back 9 were unplayable and on the front were very marginal. The big disappointment is that we were not warned about the conditions even when checking in at the course. The fairways are also in rough shape with lots of clumps of crabgrass and other weeds. The rough has not been mowed and is a foot deep. Also, the course layout is not very interesting. I will not play there again!
Come on man you obviously expect Augusta National conditions every time you step out to shoot your 100
