Clearwater Country Club
About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Never play there again
Course was in horrible condition. No yardage for women. Should have never paid that much for this course. Should have been told how bad conditions were before paying. Thumbs down for this one.
pace was fine normally bad, no water or cart girl not good
Worst course if you actually want to play.
The pace of play here is a non existent concept. Nearly 4 hours into our round and we were teeing off on the 12th hole behind a group who was possibly the initial founding members when the course was built. Then we decide to skip ahead of them since they weren't moving and they get upset and tell the clubhouse on us for passing them for playing so slow. Our group was in their 30s and 40s and we could have been considered the grandchildren for everyone else playing the course on a busy Saturday. Avoid this place if you enjoy playing golf. If you want to occasionally play golf and visit with grand or great grand parents, then this is the place for you! I will never be going back.
Overpriced golf
Given the fact that summer rates should already be in effect, the cost of golf at CCC was ridiculous. Over 5 hours to play, saw the cart girl once, and had to look for a patch of grass to hit from everywhere on the course. Limited options for snacks and beer in the clubhouse make this course value at maybe $25 per round.
Terrible value and service
Do not waste your money. Many other courses to play. Only good thing was the food server. One man show but he was a good guy. Layout is bad for some golfers. Many holes surrounded by roads and homes.
slow slow slow
I've played here 5 times this year and have encountered delays with tee times and slow play on 2 previous occasions. But this time, it was ridiculous. We teed off at our 1:52 time slot and one hole in we ran into a backlog. It was so bad, we were joined on the back 9 by the twosome that teed off at 3:00! Very poor management of tee times and non existent rangers on the course to monitor pace of play. It's hard to play well when you wait 23 minutes to hit a shot. In speaking with various members, this is apparently normal for this course, which has a reputation for terrible pace of play and unwillingness to address it. I won't be back unless this is addressed.
Clearwater Country Club was Awesome
My wife and I were matched up with another couple at the Clearwater Country Club for an 8:37 Tee Time.. The Starter let us off a little early. The course is an old course layout. The greens were perfect - literally. Pay attention to the grain. Most of the Fairways were in good shape as were the Bunkers. The rough was easily playable. We played the White Tees and the Ladies played the Red Tees. My wife giggled with glee at the significant advantage. We finished in under 4 hours. We had a great time and even went in to have a beverage and Lunch. The Staff was great as was really food. The Clearwater Country Club is definitely a Must Play.
sorry but no can do
Awful pace, poor conditions. Need a lot of tlc. Dangerous course, alomst got hit many times.
Will not go back, been there done that
Played Clearwater CC three times this month during our March visit to the Gulf area. The course is one of the better public courses in the area for this time of year. Greens and fairways in pretty decent shape. Pace of play is slow but that is to be expected for March in Florida. Used Golf Now deals to get a price reduction on green fees which makes this a good deal.
Ho Hum Day at Clearwater Country Club
Another disappointing day of golf at Clearwater Country Club. The condition of course was poor at best. Tee boxes were ratty, little to no turf in the fairways and rough and the bunkers and there edgings were some of the worst we've seen in a long time. The best part the course were the greens. Most of them had a lot of grass on them but unfortunately they were running at about 8 on the stimpmeter. Lastly, pace of play was slow which is very typical for this course...
Poor fairways and rough
Nice course but does not appear to have irrigation on the fairways or rough so you need to find a clump of grass to hit off or hurt your wrists on the hard, barren ground.
Too bad, it could be a great course.
