204 yard (blue tee) Par three third hole Photo submitted by Edpro on 07/08/2013
Only 9 holes.
If you're content to play the same 9 holes twice this your spot.
Pasture
Better of playing in a goat farm, at least the goats would keep the grass in check. 9 holes twice is terrible when the course is in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it.
Fine enough for the money
This will probably the most inexpensive course you will find in the area. The course is not in the best of shape and you play the same 9 holes twice. If you are ok with that, this course is fine for the money. Greens are bumpy with weed patches and lack of daily care. Some really challenging Tee shots and the hole that runs alongside the water skiing course is really cool. Great course for youth and people just out for a casual round.
Good place to practice
I have played Swiss many times. The Pro Shop has a lot of options for purchasing. The staff is always friendly. The course is not in the greatest place, but adequate for the cost of play. Love to take may kids there to learn.
Pleasant surprise
Not sure what I was expecting but from the YouTube drone video looked pretty good and at a good price. I was looking for a course near Clermont, Florida with a 9 Hole option and Swiss Fairways had just started offering this. Played another course nearby but it needed a lot of work but this place was in good shape does need some additional love but it played well and posed enough of a challenge. Hole 2 has a canal and there were water skiers driving by!! John Crocker, GM and PGA Pro was there at the Pro shop when we arrived and filled us in on the course and some upcoming improvements that they were making. Love this guy, great ambassador to the game and to Swiss Fairways. I will definitely be back. Truly a hidden gem.
Great layout
Short enough for senior players. Still very long from the tips. Water trouble on a couple holes that keep things interesting.
Save your money, look elsewhere
Staff pleasant, course in shocking condition, overpriced for state of the course, so under maintained. Would not recommend especially as you have Legends and Kings in the same area. Very disappointing compared to when we played it as a 18 hole course prior to COVID.
9 Holes
Swiss Fairways is now a 9 hole / play twice course that has a great layout. Great course for first time players / practice round / or buddy drinking round.
Fun for price, but a shame they closed back 9 down.
There were some good hole layouts on them also.
But for the money - good time out Sunday drinking with buddies…..
Not bad for the price
Being only 9 holes the course gets boring after a few times.
Lovely course with massive potential.
The course is one of the prettiest in area, trees, water, wild life...and water skiers!
The cost was lowish...compared to others in area. The course has massive potential but needs work. The tees were ok. Fairways very mixed, some grass and some in decent condition and some in poor condition (mainly weeds). Same goes for the greens...very mixed. The bunkers were in very poor condition...and lots of them!.
Bunkers are costly to maintain...so lose some...grass them over. Also no rakes provided.
Good for beginners
If you're a beginner, good course to learn on. No rakes for sand traps, no amenities so be prepared. Views are great, neat to see the water skying too.
Good beginner course
It's not the best course in the area, but it plays well and is really good for the money. I have played this course several times, and it does have some challenging holes.
Never should have closed the back 9
Been playing this course for at least 10 years now. Seen them go through countless owners, and course changes. The most recent owners decision to close the back 9 was the worst yet. This course is not worth playing anymore in my opinion. Maintenance is almost non existent. The cup on hole 8 was overgrown, and looked like it hadn't been changed in at least 2 weeks. Upon finishing our first 9, we headed back to hole 1 to be greeted with 5 groups ahead of us waiting to tee off, as the 18 hole rate forces you to play the front 9 twice, mixing you in with everybody just getting to the course. After waiting about 15 minutes at the first tee and seeing almost no progress on groups moving up, we decided to give up and head home. This course used to be a hidden gem, but unfortunately I'd say it is the last time I will be spending my money here until some serious overhaul is done on the course.
