Play at least once a week
Good bang for your dollar in Fort Myers area with prices being what they are. You need to be a pretty good golfer to break hundred first time playing. I’ve played a lot an and pretty much know how NOT to get into a lot of trouble. Greens can be as tough as course, don’t try and read to much into them, get speed down and sav a lot of three putts….
Don’t waste your money
Horrible conditions. Waste of money. Staff friendly. First and last time I’ve played this course.
Not awful course but WAY overpriced
I'll preface this review as I am pretty critical on reviews and brutally honest.
I booked this round on GN and was really looking forward to playing because I've heard some really good things from another person. The layout is very good...it's a little tricky with water hazards that creep into the fairways and are hidden but I was using a GPS on my phone (they don't have GPS's on carts) so I could see where the water would creep in. The range is an aqua range which I hate because the floater balls not only don't fly the correct distances but they've been hit so many times that they don'y even fly true. I hit one ball that was a big SLOOK (started slicing until it got about 120 yards out then decided to hook). Regardless, they are just there to get loose so I can accept it. The putting green had me a little concerned because it has some pretty large sandy areas where they were losing the greens so they sanded those sections heavy. On the course most greens were satisfactory but a few had the same sandy issues but I understand it's grass and mother nature sometimes makes it difficult. The fairways were long, the bunkers were unkept (which I am a firm believer that if you're going to have bunkers everywhere, maintain them or just make those areas waste areas or long rough but no excuse to have the steep faces on some bunkers didn't have sand pushed up to the edge so it looked like they were washed out and it hasn't rained in a couple of days. The rough is minimal that is playable but you can get some bad lies which is fair. The fringes and run off areas were marginal at best.
All in all, not a terrible course BUT if you're going to charge a premium, make it a premium venue. No way this place is worth a buck and a half...maybe $60-$70 and just because golf is high this time of year down here. I'd like to give it more than 3 stars but based on the overall condition of the course versus the price, I believe 3 stars is about right. For $70, I'd given it 4 stars just because it was about what I would expect for the price.
Heavy rains made things very wet. Course was very playable and conditions were very good considering the weather.
Magnolia
Fun day of golf. Surprised we got on with short notice. Course was in good condition. We were told the greens were slow. I would hate to see them when they are fast. I personally don't like that Florida courses jack their prices up in the winter.... but hey, its America.
Great course
From the time you drop your bags off, to the turn getting a glizzy and a beer for like 8$ is an absolute steal. Plus the food pretty good as well thanks to the great chef they have.
Great course, nicely maintained. Very friendly staff.
Great layout
Really neat course in great condition. Great north Lee County option.
Challenging but fun
This course is quite well maintained and good gaps between groups. It requires good course management with some obvious lay ups and some less obvious. My only small complaint is the sand traps. They could use an upgrade to deeper “fluffier” sand.
