Scotland Yards Golf Club
About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Great Shape!
The course is in great shape including Fairways and nice greens. Pace of play was initially slow until foursome in front of us let us through. Very friendly staff and maintenance employees. I hope to play this course many times again in the future and definitely recommend.
Hole by green
There was a hole between the cart path and the green that I stepped in and twisted my ankle. I haven’t been able to play since.
My golfing partner said that there was a tiny red flag bent over by the hole but I was not able to see it as I am red green colour blind.
They need to have a yellow flag upright not a red one flat on the ground
Just a great course
I play here about once every other month. It has been the most consistent of the Florida courses. The greens are fast downhill and difficult to read. They are also small and most are raised. The course is challenging and the greens are its defense. I love the course and its setup is always fun and challenging. For the money it is better than most area courses with a wonderful bar and staff. I plan to play it much more often in the future.
Good Friday
Unfortunately we had a slow group in front of us and had to wait 5 minutes each time to tee off and usually once on the second shot as well. All 18 holes. This made for a very long game. The first couple of holes we thought it might be slow in front of them but further in we realized no one was in front. Unfortunately after the first few holes we did not see a marshal.
What a great place to play golf!
We try to play here at least once a week and we are never disappointed. Thank you and please keep up the good work.
Just Playing Thru!
I have played Scotland Yard several times. The greens weren't bad but were slow, they did roll true. I would recommend a starter for this course, because I saw folks teeing off on hole #10 for their 1 tee, because the 1st tee had a few foursomes waiting to tee off. Staff was friendly, especially the cart attendant. He really made you feel welcome. The price is fair for the course.
