Best course in S.D. for the price. Greens were super fast.
Beautiful designed course.
good course but dangerous
Great, short course that is difficult due to elevation changes, wind and tricky, fast greens. Most players move to the back tees due to the posted yardage. That seems like a mistake for many. Really a fun layout. The only complaint I've ever had and still due at Woodson is that numbers 15 and 17 are short, downhill, drivable par 4s. Almost every time we play there, some idiot goes for it and nearly hits someone on the green. It is difficult to even putt because you know the drive might be heading right for you. How they have gotten away with no warning system (like a red, green light system) is beyond me. I don't know if anyone has gotten seriously injured there, but that needs to be addressed.
we had a blast
course is in great shape. Its always a challenge playing this course. The fairways are challenging and greeens are fast. The pace of play was perfect.
Never a dull moment on these links, always up a the challenge with all the elevation changes that this golf course offers. Greens are hard and fast, bring your "A" game for putting.
You will not find a cart girl here and I don't blame management for not having one, with quite of distance between holes. The views and beauty of this back country golf course will take your breath away. Did I mention the friendly and professional staff.
Mt. Woodson Golf
The views were spectacular. The course very challenging. The staff was very friendly and helpfull
Dried up Fairways
Greens are in excellent condition, most fairways are dried up or dormant due to frost, is what I was told anyway. Look for gaining distance on your drives due to smooth and dormant fairways. As always, never a dull moment when playing this golf course.
There course is filled with plenty of hazards that make up for it's relatively short layout.
The vistas are spectacular and these greens are slick.
The play is slow, but that's to be expected given the wonderful day in February.
I'll be back.
Every hole is different designed, challenges including, fast and tricky greens.
We played it for the first time and tomorrow again!
Great Layout but fairways were very dry
This a very interesting golf course in terms of layout. There a lots of dramatic elevation changes and beautiful scenery. The greens were terrific but the fairways were very dry. On the plus side, it was still decent to hit the ball off the dry fairways. The pace of play was very slow on this particular day and there were no marshals out to keep things moving. Overall it was still an enjoyable experience.
Course layout is interesting.....and some scenic views....yet I can't say it's a course I would play again. Fairways have way too much bounce.....almost like hitting off mats.
Nice course with an interesting/fun layout. You can get around this course without your driver on a lot of holes. Some blind tee shots and narrow fairways make it challenging. Definitely a course you need to play a couple times to know where to hit your tee shots. We had a great time.
This is a quaint community type course with an interesting enough layout. Lots of different holes. Some narrow. Some with carries. Some blind shots. Really like the Woodson Bridge. The price is good and services are basic. Needs more maintenance but a good course if not expecting resort class course.
Awesome course to challenge your ability to manage ball placement on the fairways and the greens. Very easy to three putt. Easy GIRs but difficult to earn birdies and even pars. Keep ball below the flag and you should do well.
Loved every minutes i spend on this course.very challenging beautiful surroundings and an unforgetable wooden bridge!!
The course was in excellent condition, The staff friendly and accommodating. The only negative part was the slow play. We got tired of waiting at every hole, so skipped 14. The rest of round was at a good pace. Why do they let groups of 5 tee off together?
Rude & Disrespectful
We used a Golf Now tee time; when we arrived we were treated like second-class citizens. We were told we could not go out a minute early, and that they were “putting people with us“. The guy at the counter even complained that they make no money off those teetimes; never been treated that poorly at a golf course before and won’t be back there....
