fast greens
excellent shape as usual, with the exception of some bunkers. Greens extremely fast, but true.
Great resort course
Loved it......would like to play it again know that I have so I'm better equiped to lower my score
Wonderful course
This course was a pleasure to play. A great layout and conditions of the course we're great. Loved the greens speed and contours. Can't wait to go back!
Great Value
Although the course was quite busy, our pace of play was excellent. The course is well marked and in good condition.
They have multiple tees for all skill levels which makes it fun to play. Green speeds were at 10, so you had to pay attention or 3 putts would be common.
Lucky to get tee time
I played as a single in peek season and was just as shocked as the staff and members that I got a tee time but trust me, it was well worth it! First let me say that the 3 members I played with were very friendly and extremely helpful in navigating the course trickery. Course was in excellent shape and definitely demanding even though not too lengthy. I played to see if it would be worth it to go back end of April for our annual guy's golf trip and trust me, I am very hopeful to get a tee time again and play all 3 nines.
Excellent course
The best course in the Bradenton-Sarasota area!! The course and greens are the best that you will find in Florida. The course is not for a beginner golfer.
Great greens
The course was in great shape and the greens are fast and true. I bit too much housing ....but it is Florida
Excellent conditions: well worth playing
This course is among the best conditioned in Bradenton. Pro shop staff and starter were both very friendly and professional. I have nothing negative to say. Some great holes and a good test of golf.
Nice but busy
Peak season - SLOOOOOW - but great course in great shape. Fast greens. Just wish it wasn't always so packed.
River Strand, great layout-fast greens.
A very difficult course (i played the blue tees my hcp index is 2.9) ,Estuary and Tributary great layouts. Your second shot into the green has no margin for error and local knowledge would have helped, it was my first time there. Pace of play was brutal ,4.55 hours for 18 holes, but i had got a hot deal on Golfnow so that eased the pain of slow play. Greens were very fast, fairways very good, overall a great Arthur Hills layout i would go back again if i got the same deal.
Great course
Great golf community with a lot of play during the winter months .
Should consider a shotgun start to accommodate member /guest demand during the busy season.
2 1/4 Frenchmen
Paired with two young Quebecans. Poor guys got stuck with a 71 yr old coot. But with my 1/4 French heritage we got along greatly. Had fun....beautiful course. Loved the sand in the bunkers which I met quite frequently. Tied at number one with my favorite Sarasota area courses.
Well Maintained Course
Played the course and quite enjoyed it, other than the pesky bugs! Course is in excellent condition, and greens run fast and true. Arthur Hills layouts are always a pleasure to play! Be sure to choose the right tee boxes for your game!!
Good Shape
The course is in great shape and the freiendlyness of the the staff are super. The fairways are wide to all us high handy cap players to keep the ball in play. This allows for faster play.
Great course to play.
Great Day of Golf
This course makes for a great day of golf in the sun.
Tale of many
We played the Sanctuary and Estuary. The Sanctuary a full 5, very typical of PGA layout, wide sweeping fairways with water near by enough to keep you very honest. Approaches to green with irons had to be handled with thought, you simply do not whack the ball and roll out it on Arthur Hill elevated greens guarded by sand. SOmetimes I wonder who is more brutal Pete Dye or Arthur Hill. The 9 holes flowed very well and the vistas exceptional.
The Estuary is a collection of like 3 courses, you have long drives between estates. A number of blind holes that when played for the first time are a disaster I did not get the feeling of an even flow to this 9.
The greens were running between 11 and 12, and as they are crowned sticking was a challenge. For some reason the holes were not cut cut sharp and true, they were rounded which often spun the ball out of control.
Fairways, amazing, Rye grass supreme.
Would like to play Tributary to have full understanding of the entire property.
areas best
excellent course, challenging.plenty of water.huge bunkers fun to play
Above Average Course. Worth a Trip.
Played Sanctuary and Tributary. Sanctuary at 3300yds off the blues is a good challenge. Tributary at under 3000yds much shorter and easier, with wide fairways. Overall, the course was in good nick. The greens had recently been hollow tined, but ran fairly true. What spoilt the round was a tediously slow 4-ball in front. We got to know the group behind well, as we met them on most tees! A course ranger would be a good idea at weekends, to keep things moving at an acceptable pace
Fun course
Lots of water and traps. Some nice risk reward holes. Sprinkler heads marked. Greens were still a little bumpy but a very pretty course and lots of fun.
Superb facility and course
Over this week we have played 3 courses within a 10 mile radius of our villa. River Strand without a doubt the best .
