Beautifully maintained
The staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful putting and chipping area, as well as a driving range to warm up. Course is maintained perfectly. A challenging overall course
The course in excellent condition
Pictures of the holes on the score card would be advantageous also location of bunkers.
enjoyed the course very much
Special thanks to your Starter...excellent. He did a great job & I had 3 guests...appreciated his help..
The only problem we experienced was Golf.now double booked ...but thanks to Starter we were accommodated. .
overrated..slow play..rude management
This course has really gone downhill. The builder gave away a free golf course membership to get people to buy their tacky homes, and now the course has too many members and not enough tee times. So pace of play is horrendous and if you sign up as a twosome on golfnow, they will pair you up with a member or two.
that being said, aside from the Sanctuary course, the other nines are your basically Florida course but much more expensive.I would recommend Imperial Lakewoods or Club Renaissance as far superior to this now overplayed and overrated track.
Nice course, great greens.
Nice course, great greens. No delays and water comes into play on several holes.
Challenging course but the recently aerated greens are a problem.
A set of 3 nine hole courses so you can play it a few times and quite possibly not play the same 18 holes each time....or at least in the same order.
Lots of water. Can't recall any par 4's or 5's that were straight. Lots of small twists and turns with several greens protected by mounds/hills. Par 3's are definitely challenging along with a few par 4's.
Due to recent aerating, greens are not in superb shape and the one nine we played had very slow, hairy greens. Not nearly in as good of shape as when I played previously. This is the basis for my rating. I'd suggest waiting a couple of weeks from now before playing.
It's still a good value using the Golfnow Hotdeal.
Course is in great shape
River strand has never disappointed me in their customer service and course condition. I make river strand a must play every trip to Bradenton
Professionally managed
Good facilities. Played Estuary (tough, interesting layout) & Tributary (easy, straightforward) nines. Play on the day was slow despite course rangers. Probably didn't see it at its best.
Excellent course.
Excellent value for the money. I played the Estuary course as the front nine and the Tributary as the back nine. The Estuary is more wide open and better maintained but I enjoyed the whole experience. Lots of water but not all of it in play. Lots of dog legs also but again, they are manageable even for a high handicapper such as myself. I look forward to playing the course again.
Nice Mixture of Holes
One of the 9 holes were closed due to maintenance so the pace was slow. Other than that, the course is in great shape and the greens were rolling at a medium pace. Nice mixture of holes. Generous fairways and slopey greens make for a good challage. The par 5's are short but well guarded around the greens. Would recommend
Interesting, challenging course
Nice layout, impressive clubhouse. Greens a bit slower than expected (not 9.5 as described), but significant elevation changes make them interesting. Some fairway mounding and many water hazards. Course was fun to play and not easy. When bunkers are repaired and greens in form, should be a blast.
Good overall course
Course has three sets of nine holes, and each has it own unique challenges. Fairways tend to be generous and not too penalizing unless you truly hit a bad tee shot. The challenge comes from your approach shots and landing the ball on the proper side of the green. Staff is friendly and course was in overall good condition. The course was wet, so it played a lot longer because most tee shots had no roll and stuck where they hit the fairway. That was the weather and not the courses fault. Florida in September, when does it not rain!
Wonderful layout. Great greens.
River Strand is the best golf course I have played among the several played in the last two years.
One of the best courses around
Course is always in pristine condition, 5 sets of tees make a greaat challenge for all levels, would highly recommend
Friendly staff and excellent conditions
What a great course and what a GREAT deal on golf now.com. The staff was friendly and very attentive ( the hotdog I ordered took awhile but...). Once we hit the course you could tell they put some time into it with maintence and difficulty. The construction workers even stopped their work we. We were on the tee box. Might have been coincidence or might have not been.
See you guys next week
Gen of Manatee County
In my opinion this is the best value for your money in Manatee County. The course is maintained in excellent condition. The greens are fast and true. The layout is thoughtful, challenging, and a fair test of skill. There is just the right amount of water and sand placed throughout the course to test a good player. Handicaps greater than 15 might not want to take on this challenging course.
Course management is critical. The greens rolled true. a really nice course to play.
This time of year it is hard to have a course in "pristine" condition
the apron around some greens had been repaired(sodded) , some tee boxes were humped and because of the amount of rain there's a lot of soggy areas. Figure on where ever your drive lands is where you will find your ball and look sometimes underground. Nevertheless one would be hard pressed to find better golf course conditions in our region.
The greens were in very good shape.
Course layout is excellent.
I have played this course about 8 or 9 times previously and this time is the worst condition that I've encountered at this course. It appears that the weather has taken its toll. Fairways were soggy but also burnt out in areas . Several of the greens were being repaired around the edges via transplanted sod which made it difficult to chip. Some bunkers were in poor shape with several having standing water. Geens were also the slowest (9.5) I ever experienced at this particular course.
fun and challenging golf course
very friendly outside staff, course was a little wet, but still very playable, greens rolled very nicely with good pace. would definitely play here again.
