Course needs a lot of TLC.
Nice new signs at every hole listing yardage, But course is bad from tee to green. I really like the layout, But beyond that I can't say much nice about the course. Hopefully they'll get it together and I'll come back. But, I won't until they do.
Oakwood
Was really a good course and 1 we will return to. A couple of the greens were pretty jack up it was like putting in a sand trap, but it was only 3 out of 18 and they are working on them. The other 15 were fine. Overall we enjoyed it. The rolling hills and elevation changes made the course a great challenge.
Among the many
Everyone knows there are plenty of courses to play in Central Florida from cow pastures to Disney standard. This is the best course for the money hands down! I play there regularly (about once a month if not more). Don't get scared by the first couple of greens. They are under improvements and will come around. Greens are improving for sure!
Fairways are also coming around. Every time I go there, I can see the efforts made by ownership to get the course in tip top shape. Newly installed benches amd teebox signs installed at every hole. Really looks good!
Couple of fairways that were sprayed and look about half dead, but that is because they are killing the crabgrass and reseeding, but most fairways are actually great.
Met the owner about a month ago and he is definitely putting in the time and money to make this course even better and I can see the effort. Will probably play there tomorrow too.
The course was great the tees are being work on they were in good shape there taking good care of them.
Nice course
I really like to lay out. People are friendly. They are constantly working to improve the course. The greens are looking really good. I'll be back.
Diamond in the ruff
Staff very friendly. We played the front nine and was very impressed with the layout and size of the property. Very challenging from the back tees. I can only imagine how beautiful this course was at one time. We stopped after nine to see if we could get a sandwich and they were very accommodating. The back nine was no disappointment either. Loved the finishing hole. Big dogleg left and you really need to hug the left side or your looking at a long shot in with big water right. I realize the course is not in the best condition at this time but I can only imagine how nice this place could be. I was very impressed with the layout 5 stars my friend and I had a great time.
Overall, the course is in fairly good condition. The greens are in good condition except that almost all 18 need to be rolled - a lot of bumps so the putts don't roll true. Also very slow.
The fellow in the pro shop was really nice and helpful.
Coming back
Last time I played the course, greens were terrible.
Was willing to try it again for the price. I’m glad I did.
There are still two or three greens that are not great, but the rest were pretty darn good. The fairways are ok and tee boxes are ok. Overall though the course was in pretty good shape.
The layout of the course is awesome and makes for a challenging round.
Would love to see more people support the course so that conditions can keep improving. If they can do that, I will definitely play here regularly.
nice layout
I like the layout of the course. The greens are coming back, but the tee boxes are terrible. The crew is working on the course, but i'm concerned with summer weather here that they may loose it completely.
It was so jay
This course was okay. The dry conditions could be seen in the fairways especially. The greens were in okay shape. The layout was challenging for a beginner like me. The course needs work but overall playable.
Tried the food for 1st time
The course is in better shape in May than the previous 2 months... fairways are in very good condition.. greens are improving and filling in and even the bunkers are in great shape. One minor complaint.... they water the greens during peak tee times! Seems they need to set the timers to let the golfers golf without interference.
The course is in pretty good condition. I would say that the greens are good, but not great, and run slowly. It's an interesting layout and worth the reasonable rate.
Not Bad
Course was in decent shape. Had a 0752 tee time. 6 foursomes had just teed off and they let my wife and I go off the back nine., Was a great round as we did not catch anyone all morning. Several tee boxes were mostly dirt, but fairways were in good shape. Most greens were OK as well.
Hidden Gem
Use to playing flatter courses in Florida but this was a surprise rolling fairways plenty of doglegs right and left. Plenty of blind shots and strategy to layup when you need
Nice layout
Greens need work maybe it’s just time of year. Has lots of doglegs and blind shots needs a couple of rounds to get comfortable on course overall a nice surprise
the layout of the course was great
the fairways were good for the dry condition but the greens left a lot to be desired there was one green on the front that was good and one on the back that was good other than you had no idea which way the ball was going to go after it hit the bare spots. Will not return.
Disappointing
Only 3 greens were putt worthy, the rest are in desperate need of repair. I don’t like writing negative reviews but when courses are struggling to stay open, at least be honest with your reviews. The positive reviews are why we gave this place a shot. Check in was a breeze, very nice customer service but that’s where the positives end unfortunately. The course is inundated with weeds, tee boxes are just terrible and again the greens are just sad. One and done for us out here, could see this place closing soon if they don’t reinvest and start getting more play.
