Timacuan Golf Club

Fun round with a couple of resident members, this course has great potential, unfortunately course conditions demonstrated a level of neglect by the current owners.

I’ve played Timacuan over 200 times over the last 25 years. It used to be very well kept year round. It has slowly been declining each year. We played the front 9 Friday morning. The course was virtually empty. The fairways were patchy and the greens were a bit bumpy and slow. I’ve heard the club is going through an economic hardship and the conditions certainly reflect that. The course layout is fantastic, hopefully Timacuan can return to its glory days again soon.

I enjoyed playing this course, for the weather conditions central florida has had it was in real good shape, it is as good as any I have played for a public course, the sour part was paying 50 bucks for mismatched worn out rental clubs, that wasn't a fair deal in my opinion.

This course is in horrible shape. Greens were punched with huge holes and sanded. There is very little turf on the fairways, mostly dirt/sand. This was obviously a great course at one time. GPS on cart did not work. No signage on many holes to know where the hazards are. No map on the scorecard.
We were told there would be a cart girl with beverages but we did not ever see her.
When we asked for a discount/refund the pro shop could do nothing, although he managed free drinks.

The course is in terrible condition the tee boxes are horrible and all of the greens had wet sand from being punched.. however they had plenty of staff and greenskeepers out there they said they're working on renovating the course.. I'm assuming in one month's time it should be playable it's a shame.. such a beautiful course in such a great layout..

Greens had been plugged but they were in poor condition without the plugging. The fairways were in poor shape. . I won’t play there again until it gets in much better shape.

The condition of the course was less than desirable. My group has played here before and it never looked like it did on 6/2. The condition of the greens was deplorable. Definitely not worth the money.

This course was once one of the finest in the area, please grow some grass on the fairways and tee boxes. The staff is always friendly and helpful but you are not giving them much to work with. Bring back the wonderful challenging Timicuan we used to love

Course is getting better but still long way from its former self.

Beautiful property but they have stopped caring about the conditions. Not worth the money.

Not sure what has happened at Timacuan but it is nothing like it used to be years ago. The conditions of the course are very poor, it's sad to see. Used to always be in great shape but now it is not that at all. I hope they are able to recover the course back into the great conditions it used to be. At least the green fees are fair for the condition of the course, and of course the layout is great as that hasn't changed. Just needs a lot of TLC to bring it back.
