Skyview at Terra Vista

its a very nice golf course to play but for the money the greens are as hard as a rock, you have to play in front and hope it doesnt roll off back and when it does you better hope you are phil or tiger. the staff is well depends on flavor i guess we went as a twosome there was a 4 foursome on tee box then a 2 some ask starter to play with them starter said they dont play with people they dont know lets put it this way the old timers were terrible. took us 3 hours to play 9 holes. got done after 9 and went to 10th tee box nobody there so we teed off then old timers came up to tee off and said we had to wait. thats what i mean just because you are member and have money. said something to staff they didnt care.wouldnt recomend this course to my old mother.

I LOVE this course. The staff is really friendly and MOST of the members / residents are friendly as well. Cathy is an absolute delight.
This last time we played it was the day before they were going to be aerating so they had some bad spots on the course knowing that they were about to be repaired BUT it was STILL in better condition than most other courses. The layout is challenging yet friendly.
My only complaint is that they don’t have a bev cart and they have a REALLY nice bar that is never open on Sundays after our round. Normally we would go in and have a few but we had to go somewhere else.
As a pure course experience though I would rec this course to everyone!

Although this course is VERY difficult to get on if you stay persistent it is well worth it. This course is definitively the best course in this area of Ocala and surrounding towns/cities. The practice area is exceptional and is nicer then most golf courses. The staff is friendly, in particular Cathy who it seems never leaves the place. The course itself is top to bottom the best. Tee boxes, sand traps , fairways and greens are all pristine. The layout is challenging but not the hardest course there is. Now, the greens, well, that’s where you will give away strokes. Very fast and difficult to settle into. Highly rec this course and will continue to play as much as they let me.

I've lived in West Central Florida since 1963 and never heard of Skyview at Terra Vista. What a find!! This was my first time playing the course. The course is beautiful and conditions were excellent. The elevation variations make the course a real joy compared with the typical Florida flat, wet courses. The slopes also make the putting a challenge. The putting green was super fast and scared the heck out of us, but the course greens were quick, but not crazy fast. Beautiful white, fluffy sand in traps. The ranger told us the course was shut down in late 2019 and given a big upgrade. Well...it shows. Trees are nicely trimmed so they don't hang over tee boxes. Fairways and greens were nearly flawless. I can't wait to return for my next round.

So, we played Skyview at the end of November last year and the greens were still healing from the complete rebuild of them. At that time I could see that it was a nice course but still needed time. Today? Phenomenal!! The greens are all healed and the course is in amazing condition. It is a high end golf course in an upscale community BUT the people/members are really friendly and the price is very fair. It was $47 plus tax and we will be paying that again next weekend. Due to Covid they are not maintaining the bunkers because they don’t want the golfers raking the bunkers and they do not have a bev cart for the same reasons but this is understood and I can’t fault them for this.
That being saiid Skyview is the nicest course in the area and then some. Tough to get an early morning weekend tee time but if you can then jump at the opportunity!!

SKYVIEW is a course I really enjoy playing. With its hills, dog legs, and quicker greens, it can be a fun challenge to play! Course rangers oversee pace of play, so you won't be disappointed in the time you finish. After a nice round, go enjoy a drink or meal at the beautifully appointed SKYVIEW Restaurant or Lounge!

This was our 2nd time back in 2017, and the place is always fun to play. Everyone is so friendly and the golf can't be beat. Except for it being 90+ degrees you would not think you are in Florida with all the elevation changes.

First time playing won't be the last. Course was in excellent conditions. Greens were fast but true.

I run a group of golfers from the North Tampa area. Always looking for new courses and we found a gem. Elevation changes were amazing, and the course conditions were excellent. They are punching greens next week. I don't know why. They were perfect! Had lunch afterwards and food was good. The only downside was we had to stop for 30 min half way through due to a storm coming through. Oh and it was an 1hr plus drive. BUT WELL WORTH IT!

Yuck--When I go to play golf- I want to enjoy the setting- it should be park like -with nice views-Geez this was the worst ,terrible feel to it- main reason ,I felt like I was in
someones yard or pool area all the time-you drive on the cart part on almost every hole ,and your 5 feet away from their pool,the condition of the course was -ok-even for the 25 bucks it wasnt worth it to me. as a developer myself- he did a great job maxing out profits,or the homes there,pinning them on top of each other,right on the course line-but for a golf course-I would pass on it-Go play Julitte Falls or Black Diamond-cause if you play bad there, at least you have something nice to look at.

Really enjoyed playing here, course was in good shape, greens rolling well and fairways in very good condition.
Staff are friendly and welcoming. Restaurant is excellent, we had lunch there my wife ordered a 'PAR3" see photo great quality and value. This is a great place to enjoy a days golf.

The photos on the course website did not do this course justice. My golf buddy and I were amazed at how beautiful each hole was and how well it was maintained. This course exceeded all our expectations. The layout was interesting and well thought out. There was nothing about the course we didn't thoroughly enjoy. The only detraction was the staff, they could use a class in customer care. They were unfriendly at best. The course was empty, you would have thought the staff would have been more happy to have patrons. But, putting up with a grouchy staff is well worth it for this course, so was the long drive.

Have played here many times. The course is in great condition for the amount of play it receives. This time of the year with (snowbirds) play becomes very slow. I guess they don't get to play often and want to make the experience last as long as possible.

We were looking for a second course to play after Juliette Falls in Dunnellon. A friend recommended this course and I am glad he did. Very playable, very friendly staff.

Course is somewhat wide-open and very playable. Greens were in good shape, the fairways seemed to be transferring from winter-rye to Bermuda grass so they were a little rough.

All in all I would come back. The restaurant closed at 5:00 so we couldn't get a drink after, that was why the low rating for amenities.

course was in very good shape, very fast greens. course was very crowded,Group in front of us was 1;26 we were 1:30 not much time in between. we waited on almost every shot. group behind us stopped at turn to eat and caught us by the 11th tee. never saw a ranger once. you expect this at local muni not at high end club. incredibly disappointing day.

The lady (with glasses) on the reception desk was awfull!! When she saw that we have booked by Golfnow she was very inpolite nearly agrressiv!
i find it very bad when you booked by Golfnow they are not polite!!

We started early so we could get ahead of 3 foursomes. We caught 2 more foursomes that let us play through.
We have had problems this winter with snowbirds who play really slow and won't let a 2 some play through.
We caught a couple of gentlemen on hole 11 who invited us to join them. It turned out one of the guys was stationed at the same army post I was at the same time.
Great guys ,my wife and I enjoyed their company.
Good conditions great weather! Great round of golf.

Skyview is a beautiful course and it's in great condition!
