Magnolia Plantation Golf Club

This course should be removed from the Golf Now course menu. From tee to green the neglect is evident. The owner(s) appear to be intent on wasting a great design and challenging tract with plenty of scenic wildlife. Even a Hot Deal round is too much. Called and spoke to a Golf Now supervisor to inform them of this.

If you have to search for your ball in the fairway because the grass is so high...enough said!

Looks like they are out of money. Bunkers full of weeds. Rough knee high. Fairways not mowed and full of high weeds. Greens not mowed and full of ant hills, mole cricket tunnels land impossible to putt.

Have not mowed the fairways in over a month. Greens filled with crab grass.

I can see it now...he/she grew up by an abandoned course, the holes on the greens were not round, the plastic inside the holes was so old that the ball didn't even bounce, it just dropped; the greens had grass in some areas but mostly weed, dirt and other things that every time he/she putted the reading had to be perfectly studied inch by inch because you could not tell if the ball would jump left or right.
Hitting from the tee had to be precise, the ball would bounce unpredictably and because the grass was so high, he/she had to follow the ball and hopefully see where it stopped. Sometimes he/she could not find the ball, but would find someone else's ball and continue with that. A characteristic was that when people played there, they seem to play with range balls, were they afraid to loose a good ball to that abandoned course?
But anyway, he/she persisted in those horrible conditions, and now on the PGA/LPGA he/she feels that if they were able to play on that abandoned course where the grass grabbed your club on the back swing and the greens did not exist, where the bunkers had more grass than the greens, playing on the tour seems easy now.
Ok, I am being sarcastic, but it is, by far, the worst Golf place I have ever played on, even if they allowed me to play for free I would not take it.
Don't waste your money on this course...it is a shame because it has potential, but the conditions are horrendous.
Our highlight was to watch, right in front of us, a family of deer, and the fact that we were they only people on the course.

Greens in terrible shape. Fairways in terrible shape. Rough in terrible shape. Needs mowing everywhere. Will not play there again. Even with a $10.00 greens fee, not worth it. If I see some positive reviews would reconsider. The course have tremendous potential, it is a shame the ownership is letting it get in such awful condition. I have given this course numerous chances.

I was going to write a review until I read the others... They said it all. One wrote that you cant beat it for $20... I have - this is the worst I have ever played on!!

Not at all what I expected from a golf community course. Weeds in the fairways. Looked like it hadn't been maintained in weeks. Even the guy in the pro shop looked surprised to see someone. Doubt they get repeat customers. Terrible layout, couldn't even tell where the fairways were. Jumanji took over this course and the owners said screw it.

I was gonna enjoy this round because I have been there several times before. But something has happened and the course is not the same. The staff was very friendly and I felt sorry for them trying to see the light.

Course is a great layout. Needs some TLC. Cannot beat it for $20.

This immaculate course has everything you want in a golf course. The fairways are in pristine shape and the greens are impeccable. If I were you, I would drown out the people telling you it is a bad course, and go play it. It is truly life changing. The staff at the course is the best I have ever witnessed. The food in the clubhouse is unbelievably good, and I would not recommend leaving the course without exploring the exotic food choices available to you. While playing the course, you will stumble upon a wide variety of wildlife. The most common are the dogs with skinny necks and red heads. The animals there offer friendly advice for the course; after all, they are experts because they are locals.

This course is in my city and I have played here several times in the past, including the Inaugural Round, it's first day of being but not under the current owner. Thie condition is the worst I've ever seen, anywhere in my 40 years of golf. Tall weeds blanket the grounds, the greens are riddled with "quack grass", the tees are barren and have "pot-holes" in them........I had purchased an 18 hole green fee but quite after 9 because the terrain was so bumpy and the cart so stiff that I jarred my back just riding. The homes that start in the $400,000 range used to be valued so much higher but this owner has dragged down the property values as well. It's really sad as this was not a good design in the first place. Sorry, if I had known of this survey I'd have taken pictures. By the way, too my knowledge I was the only person on the front nine!

THE ONLY THING THAT IS MAINTAIN ON THIS GOLF COURSE IS THE GOLF CARTS. nothing else and if they try to maintain the golf course the machinery had hydraulic leaks.Weeds everywhere, especially the greens barely maintained tee boxes, And the rough is not been maintain at all.For a once very good golf course to what it has become. Simply terrible would not recommend this to anyone not even a beginner

Course is in god awful shape. It looks like they haven't even maintained the course in months. Greens were literally dirt and the fairways had long weeds growing. And the rough was Well rough
Overall dont play here even if it is cheap. Not worth your time at all

This could be a great course. I love the layout and the abundance of wildlife on the course. All this course needs is people that care enough about it to do a much better job of maintaining it. The greens suck, the bunkers suck, the fairways need mowing, and the tee boxes need watering. I play this course because of the price and the rare occasion that I run across another player. And the fact that it's a very peaceful and serene setting.

Folks from the bottom of my heart, find another course Mayfair golf club is 5 mins down the road go there. This place has the worst staff, pro shop and maintenance i have ever seen in my 30 yrs of playing golf. There are no greens, you putt the ball and it literally bounces towards the flag. It has patches crabgrass (yes on the green) its so bad that even the people mowing when you were on the tee box would continue to mow next to you as if you were bothering them. The only good thing this place has is a good head golf professional and if i were him id run. Dont wast your time folks its not even worth playing for free. You will see that when the first put you take is and easy tap in and it bounces left or right cause the green is so horrible

Course was a total disaster to play on. Completely Brown every where. Greens were a wreck. Looks like no sprinkler system. I wouldn't play this course again. If they bring it back to life like there picture ads showing it . it would be considered a golf course.
Not worth even paying any amount to play on this mess.

Fourth time I played this course, like the lay, out love the staff wish they could put a little money in the grounds keeping.

Course has not been kept up with . Rough greens , poor fairways .
For the money it is not worth playing this course .
There wasn't a snack bar or any food or drink available , just water on the course.

Fairways are grown in with weeds. Greens have not been watered. Sand traps have not been groomed for months. Appears that course is going under!!
