Magnolia Plantation Golf Club

I practice on this course and that is what it is good for it is close and cheap and usually un-used by but a few golfers, mostly older folks that play quite slowly. the greens are barely alive with no real putting surface, so you can't really play them. the tee boxes were so dry and hard that I could barely push a tee in. the cart pathway where there is one is o.k. but where there isn't one the going is rough. in my opinion this course is in need of a good grounds keeper. there is no starter or course personnel on the course. I don't think the people who run this place really care to attract more golfers. so I use this course to keep in practice tee to green, at $15 it is as cheap as hitting 2 buckets at the driving range.

It wasn't that long ago, this course had it all: a very challenging layout & a nice buffer zone between surround houses & the holes. Today, it's in need of a lot of work; start with greens & sand in bunkers. The greens are firm & fast, but marked with some crab-grasses. Even the clubhouse area seems to be a little run-down. I've been playing this course for past 10-15yrs, and still enjoy the practice on a challenging layout; better conditions will bring the players back.

Received excellent round price while on vacation and decided to try out this course. While course is challenging and pretty, facility and personnel are at a minimum. I understand it was a week day afternoon, but the weather was fantastic. Had some difficulty following course direction as there is no real markers indicating trail.

Definetely worth the drive here. Great staff and food. Course was in great shape. Can't wait to go back

this used to be a fine course. not anymore. seems like this course has gone downhill ever since they built the new golf school.

Nice course design , greens were in bad shape . Get the greens in shape and you can play this course .

Bunkers need work and sand. Greens need work, lot of weeds on greens.

Grass on the tee blocks and fairways had not been cut for several days thin long grass on the fairways and most greens were very blotchy The layout was nice and very high end homes that were well maintained throughout the course The course is a let down compared to the gated community it is placed in

Everytime i play this course the conditions get wirse and worse. Greens had weeds on the market and the fairways/ rough were mudded/ weeded out. Bring extra balls because theres water on almost every hole. Unless you want to play a very inexpensive round. I dont recommend at all coming here to play

Booked the course online and arrived early but the staff had no problem to let me go on the course immediately!
The course was in good condition and it was an enjoy full round.
The bunkers need a little bit work on and fresh sand.

I would not want to have paid more than the "Hot Deal" price.

Played this course with my buddy. We typically play a different course each weekend. We found the condition of the course very poor, with a layout much too challenging for weekend golfers like us. The potential for a beautiful layout is there. Begin by reducing the difficulty, and the length of the course. Put money into weed killer and course upkeep. While the cost to play was less than most, what we saved was lost in the high amount of lost balls. Bar staff was excellent. Fix the course, and we'll return. For now, this course is dead to us.

This course is a stern test for the average golfer. Most of the holes play longer than they look. It is very much like a "target" golf course and it would be a more enjoyable play as you become more familiar with the course.

The conditions could be improved, but it really did not take away from the golfing experience.

Great, challenging course. If you like long courses, it's a must try and well worth the rate. Will be back again and hopefully don't loose as many balls on hole #5.

Overall I enjoyed getting out and playing a round.The weather was awesome. Cant say the same for course.It would seem as tho this course must be having financial problems.The tee boxes were hard as rocks.The greens were anything but.In fact one green had more ant hills on it then grass. You had to putt around them.It was hard to tell where the green ended to know if you were on or off. The ruff was just that. Really ruff.This was my first and last time playing this course.Its a shame cuz I think in the day when it was cared for,it was probably a nice course.They had a cooler with some drinks but had no ice to give you to keep drink cold.I paid a decent price but think I overpaid for the condition of the course.Overall I would not tell anyone to play this course.And the dining area looked nice but is closed on Mon and Tues.The staff did try to get ice but ice machine is broke.

I have played this course several times but this time was dissapointed. The fairways are overgrown and the greens appear to be wild. This course is in some need of serious work.

This course has opened and closed several times in the last few years, and management has changed many times. The course is a beautiful and challenging layout wandering through a very nice neighborhood but the conditions are just horrible. The greens have weeds in them and a ton of sand on them in an attempt to make them playable. A ball out of the fairway will be in a foot of rough and difficult to find. We won't be returning until we see significant improvement in course condition or they pay us to play. Save your money no matter how low the rate goes there are just to many other courses available in the area to play in much better shape. The grill appeared to be closed.

When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly and helpful staff, the course was in good shape especially for the price. I would definitely play this course again and I think the reviews that were previously posted are false and misleading. Give this course and friendly staff a chance.

My snowbird brother in law is now down for the winter - I wanted to take him somewhere he had never played, that would be fun and challenging as well as a good time. Our tee time was for 8AM and we arrived early - the morning sun was warm and there was deer visible off the fairways. The pro shop was friendly and invited us to go right out. We saw other golfers in the distance, but never got close enough to slow down. The course was in great shape, the greens were very fast compared to what we have seen around the area. There is one hole which is very difficult, especially if you dont hit the ball very far. Watch out for hole 16. All in all we had a great time and will definetly play here again
