A friendly wide open course.
The course layout gives an impression of privacy and space. The greens are challenging with undulations. I typically see lots of wildlife which is a bonus.
Would play again
Would play this course again. You can tell they are doing some work on the course. Look forward to playing there again.
Better than I thought
I thought over the years that this course would be like an average municipal course. You better have every shot in your bag. Huge greens with some humps in them
Lake placid golf
We often drive down to Lake Placid to play golf. Good value for money. We are retirees that need to watch our golf spending.
Lots of wildlife
Nice course even though when we were it was very wet. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We really like this place. We will definitely be going back.
Enjoyable Golf Course
The course only had the back 9 open because of the results of Hurricane Irma. Playing condition on the back 9 was good, only 2 greens were a little spotty. I played the nine twice and enjoyed driving a new golf cart!
I understand the front nine is open now and I am looking forward to playing the complete course this week.
Travis and all employees are very friendly and helpful.
Wet course that day
The course is recovering from the hurricane Irma but I like the layout. It is fun to play
This is a good course.
The staff is very friendly, the course is a good one, still wet from storm and rainy season.
Excellent Track!!
I have played this course for over 12 years and it gets better every year. The track/layout of the holes is one of the best in Highlands county. Like many courses in this part of Florida greens are not always perfect. Thepace of play is 3 1/2 hours or less never a hold up or slow play. Nice driving range and BRAND NEW GOLF CARTS. This is a MUST play golf course. I am a single digit handicaper and it is a challenge for me or my higher handicap friends that play PLCC. For the price it is a great golf course. The owners are very much apart of this course and always are friendly and caring. Travis the Proshop Manager is very helpful. Lets GO play PLCC TODAY!! SEE U OUT THERE!! AHaney
hot and steamy
Great price for a late morning tee time. Course is located near my house so easy to get to. Greens are in great shape but very slow with this time of year. Fairways were so-so with a lot of freshly mown clumps of grass on the course. Great round as played solo and was done in well under two hours. Stopped in for a beer and sandwich both of which were very good.
Challenging Features
I play this course weekly and more often when special rates are offered by Golf Now. The manager and employees are great!
The course is in better condition than it has ever been. Especially with the drought, in this area.
I do consider this course to be a more difficult course for the lady golfers, but love the challenge. Can't seem to get under 50 from the normal ladies "red" tee off. I refuse to play the closer "new" orange tees. It would defeat my purpose, of having fun and and challenge, too.
I enjoy seeing the alligators and other wildlife while playing.
Picturesque and Fun Fun Fun
I drive with a group of ladies from Okeechobee to play this course. We love that it is challenging, but not too challenging. The wildlife is so abundant. You feel like you have gotten away for the day when you play this course. The owners and staff go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. Thanks to all.
fair
lot of weed grasses on fairways course needs to be worked on poor grass conditions on fairways greens were fast
probably would not make another 45 minute drive to play here again
had fun but conditions of course fair only
What a shame!
This course could be so much more than it is. You can tell it was very well designed with quite challenging greens and a nice layout. The problem is that either through lack of money, ignorance, or laziness, or a combination of these that the course is overrun by crabgrass and weeds. You can tell that they have done overseeding and may have tried to bring back the fairways, but there is still a long way to go. The greens are very challenging with multiple levels and tricky slopes and although better on the back nine, the greens still have way too much weeds and crabgrass. This course could be a gem with proper maintenance, but it definitely is only worth the $22.50 (including fees and tax) that we paid.
