Plantation Palms Golf Club
About
Plantation Palms Golf Club, designed by David Harman, provides every Tampa golfer with a challenging and rewarding golf experience. The links-style design starts with a welcoming par 5, and then slowly steps up with a mixture of strong par 3s. Just 10 minutes north of Tampa, this course was carved a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. Plantation Palms Golf Club has an attractive framing of greens by the use of pine trees, water and large snow-white sand traps. The true-rolling elevated greens have good movement and are a challenge for golfers.

Fun Sunday Round
2nd time playing in two weeks and it was a great experience as previously. The greens were nice and fast and rolled true which is so important. Not only fast, but firm and held approach shots nicely. I would honestly say that the tees needed a little bit of work or maybe water as they were a bit worn, but I'm okay with that based on the quality of the fairways and greens. I'm not putting off of the tee box, but rather pushing a tee into the ground. The practice range was a bit rough too, which made for a bizarre warmup since the ground was very uneven. The pace was pretty good for the most part, but there was a slightly slow group in front and we had a 4.5 hr round that could have easily been under 4. Surprised that they allowed a walker on a weekend afternoon in that group and we never saw a ranger.
Regardless, a great course and vert enjoyable round!
Wide open course but pace of play was horrible
Great course with lots of wildlife! Pace of play was horrendous. Literally waiting on every shot.
Saturday Funday
Had a great round and enjoyed the course, layout, conditions, and playing partners. The pace was excellent with no waiting except on the 18th teebix for some reason. Fast greens and space on the fairways if you get a little loose out of the tee box. All my approach shots stuck the green, yet they were firm and rolled true. The cart GPS was a little wacky and cautioned me on the cart path near the 18th and 9th greens.
My only negative was that the toilet in the ckubhouse had no toilet paper. Good thing there were papers for the sink.
A lot of member walkers
With all of the walkers it can slow the pace down quite a bit.
Good value for money
The course is in very good shape. The greens were fast and true. For me it's a second shot course. Driving areas are generous.
Great course for the $
We had a good time playing this course. It was well marked, and you could be rewarded for a good shot. The 18th hole wasn’t a great finishing hole for guests, but a regular player would have more success.
Great greens and friendly staff
Played in moderate winds that calmed through the day. Greens were in great condition and were quick - a pleasant surprise and best feature of the course! Downsides... There were a few unusual holes and the driving range was closed for maintenance on a Tuesday AM. We arrived early for range time so this was disappointing but live and learn... they close the range on Tuesday. Many greens on the back were crowned - another feature that makes for interesting shots and strategy. It was a nice course, great greens, really laid back and friendly environment. Like many FL courses, this one winds through a suburban neighborhood. So if you are seeking a natural environment you should look elsewhere. Thanks for a nice day at the course!
Continues to impy
PP is continuing to improve and starting to come back to form. You can tell management has invested and it was a good experience this last weekend. Yes, it can be busy. But that will thin out after peak season and with some rain it should continue to get better. Good value for the area. Look forward to playing again.
