Plantation Palms Golf Club
About
Plantation Palms Golf Club, designed by David Harman, provides every Tampa golfer with a challenging and rewarding golf experience. The links-style design starts with a welcoming par 5, and then slowly steps up with a mixture of strong par 3s. Just 10 minutes north of Tampa, this course was carved a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. Plantation Palms Golf Club has an attractive framing of greens by the use of pine trees, water and large snow-white sand traps. The true-rolling elevated greens have good movement and are a challenge for golfers.

Poor conditions
Poor conditions for the price. Did not like the layout of the course. Some holes were very difficult for the average golfer. I won’t be back.
Nice
Great layout. Nice slope and tree lined fairways, a bit muddy after a few rainy days but worth the drive!
Much improved
I had heard that PP was getting better due to continued improvements to the course. After playing Sunday I was definitely impressed with the changes. The course has always had a great lay out. Greens were in good shape and pace was good. You can see that heavy rain could have an impact for sure, but it’s been dry and course played well. Put it in your rotation and kudos to PP for the strong steps forward.
Slowest round in history
Course is nice and the employees are fantastic. Unfortunately, this club has a bunch of members that screw around ruin it for everyone else. 3.5 hours to get through 9 holes because of these chuckleheads. Ended up playing first 9 again to avoid then. 5.5 hours is brutal overall. Club needs to address this ASAP.
3 tee times
Had a group of 10 in town for a college game. Course was well maintained and challenging. Greens ran true and an bunkers were sandy! Pace was on par.
Greatly Enjoyed
I had friends in from out of state and we all played this course for the 1st time. Everyone enjoyed the course, the layout and the staff. Would highly recommend it.
Almost perfect
No water or ball washers on a course this awesome is a letdown. GPS on the carts, bev cart, fast greens, it almost has it all. But will definitely be back
Would not recommend
First time playing the course - summer day in Florida and no water on the course or cart girl. Said something on the turn about how dangerous that could be and the staff just laughed us off.
Pace of play was terrible, clearly just booking whoever and not thinking twice about it. On the back 9 there was 3 groups on every hole. After 4 hours and being only on hole 13 we ended up leaving, going through the rest of the course it was like that the rest of the way.
Talked to the pro shop about this and only response was “that’ll happen”.
For $60 take your money elsewhere.
Out of towner
I liked everything about the course except the pace of play was horrible. They seemed to have a Marshall come by but I don’t think they ever got the group who slowed everyone up to pick up the pace.
Pace of play
This is the second time in a week that the round took 4-1/2 hours with a group in front that had 2 holes open in front of them not able to maintain contact with the group in front of them. No ranger to be seen either round. They did give us a free round the first time. The starter just sends people out regardless of their tee time I really don’t understand why they can’t manage their course properly
The course was under water especially around the greens and not in the conditions that you would associate with the price paid.
