Love the Links
I am resident of Naples, fairly new golfer. The course is great for my needs. This time the greens were in bad shape, first I had seen of that in all the times I was going.
Poor conditions late April
A friend invited us to the Links of Naples and told us before "it's below standard", but this is a great understatement. Course is in poor shape. Some courses rough looks bettes than the tee boxes at the Links, fairways are often brown and extremely dry and hard, featuring some long grass in it. Putting is like gambling. After the round we had to return the cart by ourself. Staff told us season is over and maintenance is limited to a minimum, but sorry guys, this is not near worth 30 $. Maybe in good shape it's a nice, short pitch & putt course. We won't try it again.
This course was terrible. Note nice.. No grass in the fairways and on the green.
This course was terrible. Note nice. No grass in the fairways and on the green. No grass on the tee off.
Good customer service, enjoyable course
We read some of the reviews before booking which were negative. We went out and had a good experience. Great customer service from the start, pulled up a cart and loaded our bags. Had fun hitting into the Aqua Range (less than 200 yds) and then went over to the starter, we were paired up with a couple who had played here before. We really enjoyed the round. The course was easy to follow, the greens were very slow and on the small side. The bunkers were in good shape and raked.
We grabbed a burger at the turn and it was freshly grilled for us. We learned later to request it when you finish up the 7th hole and it will be ready after you finish up the 9th. (So you don't have to wait).
To top off our experience we left my sunglasses in the cart and called to the Pro Shop after we left. They had found the glasses and we picked them up later that same day. Appreciate the high level of customer care we received.
The Links of Naples
Very good reception inside Club House. No problems locating cart and starter. I was paired up with 2 other guys, no problems. The course itself was in poor condition, with the greens being the worst I have ever played on!! I was told they had been double over seeded which had gone horrible wrong.
I really like this course but
They need to spend some money on greens and fairways. Grass quality is going downhill. Porty john was full, really bad, no excuse for that.
Links of Naples
This 18 hole public course is located east of Naples, FL on Hwy 41. The staff are very friendly. The course requires some attention, greens and tees especially, but then again I played at the winter season's end (highest usage of about any golf course in the USA). I'd recommend it for a new or average player who wants to get in a round at a great price. Watch out for the big gator on the 17th!
OK for a practice round
This is a short course with bad greens. If you are a beginner or rarely play you will find it acceptable . Do not pay more than $25 green fees, in any season.
Ok value at $20
Paid $20 for 18 holes (50% discount) through GolfNow which is about all this course should charge. The course is not in great shape. lots of weeds in fairways and on the small greens. Wide fairways but very tight, difficult to pitch the ball, although good for long drives. Enough par 4s for an executive course, and enough water to make it interesting.
you need to be accurate
you have to place your shots for if you are a little off line you are in trouble. a good challenge.
Fun Course
Great course for occasional golfers. Staff are both friendly and professional. Course itself has some challenging aspects but plays quite short, making it easier for the average duffer to stay on track. Great value for the $$.
Links OK
course has some difficult shots .Greens better shape on back 9. Ranger needs to be around more. Afternoon play wqas very slow
BDgolfnut
Greens need work, but nice course for the money.Good for new players.
Horrible Conditions
The worst course I have ever played. There was bare spots of grass everywhere, greens were total trash. The pace was almost 3 hours for 9 holes on a par 3 course. Luckily was only playing 9. I would expect a course like this in the northeast where the season is short but not in Florida. Will never come back and will never recconmend.
Good shortie
Links of Naples is a good executive-sized course, with lighting for night play. The quality of the greens was sketchy, both by condition and speed, but in general, the course was in good shape. There is a decent variety of holes, but the par 3s are mostly short and undemanding.
This is a good place to practice short game
I really enjoy working on my short game here. The course is set up nice and the staff is very friendly. The greens are a bit lacking as far as how they flow. Except for that I believe you get your monies worth here.
Too crowded
Course was too crowded --- took 3 hours to finish nine holes. Tee times need to be spaced at 10 to 11 minutes instead of 7.
Good bang for your Buck
Friendly, courteous staff treat you as a consummate Professional! They literally go out of their way to give you a wonderful golfing experience...thank you for giving the run of the mill golfer an opportunity to enjoy the game!
Good Short Game Course
The Links of Naples was in good shape, the day was windy, but sunny. Pace of play was slow at first, but picked up in the second nine. We were a three-some and were paired with a fourth who fit in well with the group. The course was enjoyable, with plenty of water and sand. Mostly par 3's, with a few 4's of shorter length. We enjoyed the course and the day very much.
