Poinciana Country Club
About
The Poinciana Golf Club has recently re-opened under NEW MANAGEMENT and has done extensive renovations to the golf course including NEW GREENS.
Located in western Lake Worth, Poinciana Country Club is one of several great short courses that south Florida has to offer. At just over 4,000 yards, it is a quick and challenging test of your target golf skills. The greens are small with large breaks and there are swaying palms lining the fairways. The layout consists of par 3s that range from 103 to 172 yards and par 4s that are approximately 300 yards. There are strategically placed hazards throughout the golf course that offer good short game practice for more advanced players. Poinciana Country Club can conveniently be played in less than four hours. The golf course is still gentle enough for beginners though. It is popular amongst locals but still a well kept secret from the rest of south Florida.

Great local course
great little course that is good for a mid to high handicapper. excellent value for the money and very conveniently located. staff is always very friendly and helpful and pace of play is usually not an issue (1 out of of the ten times I've play there was it slow). would highly recommend for a nice relaxing round with some challenges (for most weekend warriors)
My favorite
This course is a great course for new golfers-the staff is super kind, the pace is forgiving and the distances are doable.
Nice, well kept, excellent staff and a great price !!
Would definitely recommend !!
Good course
Course was dry and the tee boxes were very sandy. Greens had some grab grass and were very fast
Great for the money
Staff is super super awesome, pace at times is slow due to older folks, afternoon tee time is better to avoid them if you are a fast pace amd like to get done within 3 1/2 hours . Course is getting better maintenance
par 64 hidden gem
Lovely little place in older community that is getting better every time we play. Greens are small and fast. Fairways have some weeds but are very playable. Bunkers need sand so you can actually do a real bunker shot. That being said you can putt out of almost every bunker which we did with great success. Great place to practice your iron approach shots on the fives and fours and especially on the par threes which are very well protected with bunkers. Got to hit "em high and land soft to hold green. Hard to get up and downs if you miss due to condition of bunkers. We loved it though and played 18 in about three hours fifteen minutes.
Greens
The fairways are rough in parts, sand & bare. The greens were in excellent shape and fast.
tricky greens but in really nice condition
Par is 64 but it plays harder. Many smallish elevated greens sloping on all sides. The putting surfaces are fast and roll nice. I'm a pretty good putter and they are quit challenging. Makes up for the shorter course yardage. Tees need work and fairways could use water. It's been unusually dry in S Florida sine last October so it's no surprise. Bunkers are very firm, which is not typical in Florida, and much harder to play than fluffy sand. I will definitely play it again.
