Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club - Gator/Panther Course
About
Located just northwest of Tampa, Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club sprawls across the lush landscape of the west Florida coast. The club offers three nines: the Gator, the Panther, and the Bobcat. The nines can be played individually for a quick round or in three different 18-hole combinations. The Gator/Panther layout offers a good balance of challenges and player-friendly features. Narrow, tree-lined fairways are complemented by generous landing areas. There are sparkling lakes and ponds that come into play on a few holes and strategically placed bunkers are situated along the greensides. In addition to the three golf courses, Silver Dollar boasts one of the area's most extensive practice facilities, which includes a full driving range, two putting greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sandtrap, and three practice holes.

Silver Dollar
Crazy the range going off that rapidly! A cottage course but plays longer than you think…
Grumpy Course Manager
I did not appreciate being bitched at by the course manager when checking in because I had booked a Deal Time on TeeOff.
Good Value
They have 27 Holes, two have real rewards risk layout, half the holes great condition other half two many bald spots in fairway, needs major over seeding
Lost
The course could use some signage to find the holes and between the 3 nines
We were lost several times. We played on a day the course was wet soi it ead hard to judge.
Disappointed
I will start off with the positives. The greens were fast and smooth, the carts were newer and pace of play was great because as far as we could see, we were two of maybe ten people on the only nine open. Walked into the pro shop, no greeting and had to initiate the conversation. Person behind counter never looked up except to tell me two of the three nines were closed and pointed to a sign confirming. I guess I should have seen it from forty miles away? No update on Golf Now even though he stated they had been closed for quite awhile. This is however a common occurrence as a lot of courses have a distain for golfers who book through GolfNow. Had to let the person know it was our first time and asked if he could tell us the direction of the first tee. The tee boxes were very sparse and one par three had no white markers and some had just one. The fairways were very dry and sparse of grass after the first two holes to where the ball made dust clouds bouncing down the fairway. Had to get creative on approach shots to the small elevated greens to get the ball to not roll off the back. The greens were nice and fast, but rock hard. Overall, this course is probably best to let the locals have as a place to hang out, but not worth it to drive from any distance.
A Low Point
Least favorite course I’ve played in over 9 years in the Tampa area. The restaurant and bar were fine but the golf staff was horrible. Fairways were unkept, hazards were unmarked, and course was in bad shape. Avoid it.
Grass way to high
All the ruff was way to high like it hasn’t been mowed for a month
Nice course
I haven’t played here in a while. The course is in real good shape.
