Hombre Golf Club

To start, I was picked up at my car and taken to the clubhouse. The guy chatted me up about the course and all it amenities. He talked about the courses long history and the improvements that they were working on at this time.
The rate of play was great. I was able to play what I call a practice game. I'd hit two or three balls and take my time.
The course was difficult to say the least. Lots of water and some sand. But the fairways were very forgiving. This is a beautiful course to say the least. I will be back next year to play this course again and again.

This was on a list of top 75 public courses I've been playing. Perhaps I came at a bad time I found conditions to be unsatisfactory. I finally packed it in and left. The final straw was this totally gimmicky waterfall . If that was the good I didn't need to see the bad and the ugly was closed. Tee boxes were closed greens were patched many places were bare. Needs major overhaul.

Some of the tee boxes and greens were in really bad shape, but thr fairways were good. I enjoyed playing. The Pro in the pro shop was rude and not friendly and made me feel like he could care less whether I played there or not. This will not be my first choice next time.

Course in decent shape. Tee boxes a little thin. Had a number of instances where maintenance in their gators were or really paying attention to the golfers: blowers and weed eaters on while preparing to play, gators in the field of view while addressing a shot. Need to address that maintenance while a round is going on should be invisible.

Course is in good shape. Staff is very friendly and male you feel welcome.

I found this couse in above average condition and faily challenging. Plenty of water and bunkers. I was paired up with great guys

Very entertaining starter who was quite candid on how tough the course is. Glad we played it as tremendous layout with lots of water and sand but need to bring extra balls and play it safe or your score will get away from you really quick.

Sand on all the greens. too many on the course. had to wait an hour for a cart

A real exercise in target golf. Did not play terribly long, but shot placement is critical. Also, if water intimidates you, this will play tough. It rained hard a couple days before I played, and there was a lot of casual water, too, due to poor drainage. The regular water was hard enough!

A lot of course with standing water due to a lot of recent rain

The course messed up my tee time.. Squeezed me in with a twosome 25 minutes late. This course does not drain well at all. Always seems to have soft, wet spots all over the course. Three nines,the Good is shorter and easier,the Bad and Ugly are very hard.Tons of tight holes with lots of H2O. You do get unlimited balls on the range beforehand. Just not one of my favorite courses in this area.

This time played the course from the yellow tees as opposed to the whites. From the whites it's really too difficult for a senior with a 13 handicap.

From the yellow tees the course was a lot of fun as it is still challenging but just not overlong. Lots of water holes and dog legs make for an interesting round.

The greens were in good shape but fairways were very tight lies ....maybe normal for February.

A nice set-up. Probably a bit too much sand and water for my level of play (15 handicap). I still would play it again, and believe a better player would truly enjoy the course.

The course played long due to the time of year and the wetness of the fairways. The greens on the "bad" side were in better shape than on the "ugly" side. The "ugly" side greens were much slower and softer.

Hombre (Bad/Ugly) is always the best option for a public course in the PCB area. A Q-school qualifying course so you know its a big time track. The course is flat but the defense is the water hazards which seem to be everywhere! There is a premium for being in the fairway in the right spot in order to have a clear shot at the green. Half my approach shots were blocked out and I was still in the fairway. Overall, This is a great course with a mix of holes with varying distances, short par-4s and reachable par-5s with long and short par-3s. If you're in PCB and you can only play once, I would suggest Hombre (Bad/Ugly only).

I enjoyed the Good course, as it was a good warm up, not very challenging, but enough to keep your interest. The greens are still being worked on, so that was a little frustrating, but understandable. The Bad was more challenging, so you need to adjust from one course to the next QUICKLY. The main issue I had which is what I have heard for some time....is that this course has really soggy fairways in a lot of places, multiple soggy areas, so I recommend with reservation. I was told by a lot of people that they know they have an issue, but no one seems to know how or when to fix it?

If you want a challenge then Hombre is the spot. Every hole is challenging but fun at the same time. It was a little muddy from all the rain last week and it was still 90degree cart path rule. If you are heading anywhere near PCB then Hombre should be a mandatory stop.

We were a threesome and nothing held us back. We're not rushed either. Should have more bathrooms. Wonderful course and was the best golfing since I've been visiting here for several years, but doesn't take away from some of the other courses nearby.

I loved the course and cant wait to go back and play it again. The traps and fairways were perfect. It seemed that quite a few of the greens had some issues and there were quite a few patches in them making them somewhat inconsistent.

Nice course.. Coarse is in good shape. Will come back and play again.
