Great Day
Do not let the yardage On this golf course fool you very very challenging bring your a game courses in fantastic shape as always staff is very friendly
Water Challenge
Excellent short course. Not as easy as score card looks. Superb greens. Great value.
It's about the greens.
We play 12 different courses in Volusia and Palm coast and Crane Lakes has one of the top three best greens. Today they were a bit slower than usual, I guess due to rain or sprouting overseed. Bunkers and the whole course was in great shape. It was a bit windy and we played at a good pace until about #14 which isn't too bad for in season.
Bring lots of balls
Short course (less than 5200 yards from black tee boxes, and a par 66) with water in play on most holes... and zero indication of distance to or over water, no diagrams or distances on hole markers or on scorecar, so it made for a very difficult game for non-residents. Course was in good shape but we would have enjoyed it more if we were given some indications somewhere.
Fun little course
Great time Sunday. First time playing there . Course was fun , and challenging, and in Excellent conditions. Especially the greens and traps .
Look forward to playing there again.
Great course!
Really enjoy playing this course! Beautiful and in great condition.
Crane Lakes
Great course with very friendly staff. Never had a problem with pace of play and the course itself is fun for any level of player
Gorgeous little golf course
Very nice course with always good conditions. The green are in top shape. The layout is very fun, and the rounds there are always at a good pace. Would recommend it to anyone!
First time played this course.
I didn’t realize there were so many par 3’s and only 2 par 5’s. I guess with 8 par 3’s it really slowed the pace of play, but still finished under 4 hours. It was a lot of fun, but was a windy day.
Excellent Golf Course
Over the past month, I’ve played seven different golf courses in and around New Smyrna. Crane Lake Country Club was by far the best conditioned course. The tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and greens were all in great shape. The grounds crew could be seen working throughout the course and their hard work shows. The course is challenging with large undulating greens, water on most holes, and deep bunkers. Requires some critical thinking to get around safely. I definitely recommend this course.
Fun, Short with Unique challenges
This was my first time playing Crane Lakes. When I arrived, I was skeptical due to the short length of the course as well as being a par 66 course.
However, that skepticism quickly went away with the friendly people, especially the lady in the pro shop. She was super friendly and accommodating to my requests.
Today was very windy so the course was very challenging , even with the short length. Also, there is water on every single hole so that can be a challenge in its own right.
The worst part of today was the pace of play. There were many groups ahead which made the pace of play very slow with lots of waiting between shots and between holes.
The course conditions were great (other than it was wet due to lots of rain last night). The greens, tee boxes and fairways were in very good condition. The course also has a very nice grass driving range with nice short game practie area to the side of the driving range.
If you get the chance, go play Crane Lakes. You will not regret your choice.
good day
was joined up with a couple that were very nice so had very good day
Well manicured course
Always a fun time and challenging here and there. Can be frustrating for higher handicap players, as there is a water hazard on most holes. Pace of play can fluctuate...sometimes 3 hours and others close to 5. Par 66 course gives a lot of opportunities for birdies but you have to be accurate with your shots.
A Great Find
Wanted to play a round between Orlando and St. Augustine. Port Orange caught my eye, as did Crane Lakes with its 4.5 star rating. The price was in line from Golf Now so I jumped at it.
I enjoyed it so much, I booked the following day and plan to return next month. The course layout makes it challenging for intermediate players like myself.
