Sarasota National Golf Club

I've played this course several times over the past few years and the conditions have been consistently great each time. Even in late November the green and fairways were in fine shape. The greens were fast, but true. The course is very playable for all ability levels due to the wide fairways. The course get more challenging around the greens with well-placed bunkers and greens with significant slopes. Finally, the addition of a nice clubhouse completes the experience.

Showing heavy signs of grass being worn out from cart traffic to same area day in and day out. They need better roping system.
Greens perfect! Whats up with the 8-10 warm up stations on range. Had to wait!
Course maintenance going down hill over the last 8 months. Just no longer a lush course. typical Florida course. Slapping dozens of homes up monthly. Will be totally private by this time next year.

A foursome played ahead of us and behind them a twosome. The foursome had at least one child, playing slow. These people held up everyone behind them, even tho we could clearly see a child running from time to time to catch up.

The twosome in front of us we novice golfers who ocasionally hot two, or three balls.

This is absolutely not a course for a serious golfer to play, The charges to play here are for an advanced player.

Played at 2:30 and got 13 holes in, greens are lightning fast so spend some time on the putting green before going out. Range ballS and great practice facility is included so get there early. Staff especially the starter friendly and helpful.

I always enjoy this course it has very generous landing areas and the greens hold well. It’s usually very windy and the last few times I played the rough hadn’t been cut making it extremely hard to get a club head on the ball without a lot of grass in the way but all in all one of the nicest courses in the area!

A very fun and fair course to play with a large selection of tees to make it fair. The conditions are outstanding, the green fast and true. The only issue is that the members play quite slow on average, no matter the number of groups stacked up behind. There was no ranger or marshal doing anything.

The first 9 holes are not very nice. At all holes there are big construction activities disturbing the game. Also the view to some huge construction sites is not really enjoyable. The 2nd 9 holes are nice and quiet.

wow, cant believe this happened to us and everyone else behind us for the next 5 plus hour round.. I hope everyone speaks up as this was totally UNACCEPTABLE!!!!
Tee time was 12:30ish. Starter stated backed up 10 minutes due to a large group of beginners playing a scramble ahead of us. They were on 7 of the front nine tees ahead but good news they are only playing 9 holes. Rule, number one, prime time dont let beginners out for scramble, Are you kidding me The front 9 took us 2:40 minutes. On some holes we had 16 people but one hole we had 20 people on hole 7. ran into pro shop at turn and asked if it was clear ahead. response was, clear ahead, the group only played 9 holes. Well, holes 10-13 took an hour and ten minutes. Our foursome was cut down to a twosome as 2 greats guys couldn't take it any longer or they would miss dinner plans if they stayed. UNACCEPTABLE that starter and pro shop allowed SLOW PLAY.
Not sure where all the groups came from on back 9 but is was worse on back. We finished in the dark resulting in 17/18 taking a bogey. You ruined by dinner plans too.
Course needs work. Driving range horrible. dry, dead grass and huge ruts where you had to stand. many of the tee boxes were dry, full of divots and just brown with dirt. Fairways great along with greens that were fast and perfect.

No fun taking two hours to play 7 holes
We were unable to play 18. No light left
I shall cancel our next booking on Thursday

No point booking tee time after 11.00

Lucky to get in 9 holes. Tee time at 2:34PM and 4 (four) groups backed up on the par 5's. Oh, it was painful.

Why do this?

Terrific layout. Fun to play. Variety of holes. Staff excellent. Course we’ll manicured. Just a vary enjoyable golf experience.

Enjoyed playing, well kept course, need a cart because too much distance between green and tee box. Fast greens and challenging. A fair number of bunkers.

Second time playing course, the greens are in great shape and run at a good speed. The overall condition of the course is good to excellent in all areas. Watch out for a couple of holes that water creeps into a possible landing area. Nice practice areas for putting and warming up on the range,( I don't care for water ball ranges but it lets you warm up your swing before your round).

Great deal. Great track. Fast greens. Highly recommend it.

Excellent golf course with generous fairways, and the greens were fantastic! Highly recommend this course anytime you're in the Sarasota/Venice area.
