Course needs some work
This is my first time playing The Saints in Port St Lucie since it closed due to safety reasons during the spread of COVID 19.
The course is a little shaggy with weeds growing in the fairway and greens very bumpy.
Hopefully they will get the course conditions back up to par.
This is a very fun track and good value for a muni. The city typically does a good job with course maintenance. Hope the conditions improve.
Good to see them open
Greens were recently air raided so a bit a trouble but that’s okay. The time off allowed course to heal. All tee boxes looked great and fairways looked heathy. The starter was good at keeping groups from forming up to large. On first tee box we were only allowed to tee off on time at 12 min intervals. Still don’t understand why other than he said to keep group separated but okay. Greens as stated before were air raided and all holes had pool noodles. Great to see. But they were very inconsistent in size per hole. The best size for all is 2ins. Hole 6 noodle was almost even with cup. I may have holed out but none of us could be sure do to is I hit flag stick and lipped out or bounced off noodle.
There were no amenities at all. Driving range, chipping area; closed and putting green pins removed with no holes. Other courses have theirs open as I play around this area a lot. Please bring it back. At least chipping area and putting and dont move holes on putting green for days, just a suggestion.
Staff was great and helping everyone stay safe and not group. BIG BROTHER is watching and they did call staff from home when they noticed a grouping. They told us. STOP STRESSING OUT STAFF! They are learning and trying too. If your going to watch staff then be a leader and be with them too. I’m retired Marine and know leadership when I see it. Again, I am glad they are open and learning like the rest of us. My rating is low due to current events. Most of the time I would say 4 stars across board.
I’m a regular at the here and I have been playing the course for years and I will say this is by far the best shape it’s ever been in. The shut down did it wonders. The greens were recently air raided but are closed being back to normal. Give it another week and they will be perfect, fairways were perfect and tee boxes were too. The rain has really helped it out. Love this course and I’m happy to see it’s in great shape
First Round at The Saint
Great pace of play! 2:45 for the round on a Thursday morning teeing off at 10:30am! Surprised that the rating is only 117 from the whites at almost 6,200 yards. Check before you go as they are planning to close after Friday March 27 due to you know what!!
Course was very dry and a little beat up. Nice people and great rate
Enjoy the round !
The course is a genre at course, especially for the money. Very forgiving and just downright FDNY to play.
We ply a lot of great golf and this course plays as good as any.
Played here for the first time 02/18/2020. I was very pleased the treatment from the staff. I felt welcomed. The course was a pleasure to play. The pace of play was good. I will return.
Staff is friendly and helpful. It is a basic course; only a couple of holes are really attractive, but the course is in good shape. Greens are challenging but fair. Most fairways are wide and forgiving; water holes are not too challenging. A great course for average golfers like me.
Fun little course
Not bad for a municipal course that gets lots of play. Was a somewhat slow on front 9 but pace picked up on back..4 1/2 hrs total. Staff was super friendly as was the starter and ranger. Joined in with a 3 some and we had a great time. Will definitely play again while here.
They changed 9 th hole and not reported on the card or even gps
That is not good. Soccer field now in place of where the 9 th used to play out
Great day. Got around in 3 hrs. Played in A 3 some. Enjoyed the round. Finished up with surf& turf in Sandpiper’s / 19 hole
Needs More Work
Played this course for the first time and decided that the &27 afternoon rate really reflects the course conditions The sand on the greens made the condition of the greens even worse than expected
The greens had more bumps and bruises which impacted my putting in all the holes The new sand in the bunkers is too heavy to get the ball out without a strong swing Most courses would have swept the sand on the greens before play began Plus this type of sand is very hard to move the ball properly without a lot of effort
It seemed that most golfers that play here don’t fix their ball marks and don’t rake the bunkers making course conditions more difficult In addition the tee boxes on some holes need to be refurbished Moreover we weren’t told when we reserved a 2:00 tee time or at check in that the carts had to be back by 5:45 so we couldn’t finish the round I won’t play there again even though I have a coupon for a free round Finally the previous reviews of this course are way off base As this course is not a 4 Star course by any stretch other than the price
Nice course, fairly open, in pretty good shape. Greens had just been covered with sand but still was a very good pitting surface. I recommend this course.
