Average Course, Fairly Priced
First off we played Champions to Heritage and the Heritage course was in SLIGHTLY better condition than Champions. Now, with that said...
We received 7 inches of heavy rain the Friday before the Sunday that we played this course. It was obvious the "damage" that the rain had done to the greens. The greens looked like the rain had washed away parts of the putting surface. They were not unplayable by any means but they did have bare spots and were quite bumpy. The sand traps were either flooded or un touched by the grounds crew and I DO NOT blame them for this. The tee boxes were in good condition. We played 18 holes in a cart on Sunday morning for $25 and this was a fair price considering the condition of the course. I have played this course many times and I hope that with the right attention to the right areas they will use this wet weather as an opportunity to improve the greens. Fairways were good with plenty of grass to hit off of. I would rec this course at this price right now with the hope that it improves.
Eagle Eidge
Very pleasantly surprised that the course was in very playable condition after weeks of hard rain. Greens were generally in good shape. Pace of play was under 4 hours which was good considering the courses were crowded
Good value for the money. Club house and on course staff were very pleasant.
Nice Course, Too Slow with Fivesomes
While I enjoyed playing the course again, I probably will not return since they allow fivesomes out even when the courses are extremely busy. Never should be done.
Champion course
It was a pleasure to play this course. Very good shape, layout challenging but fair. Amenities were more than expected. I would recommend this course, top shelf.
1st time here and I loved it!
Of all the Florida courses I have played in 7 years of wintering here, this is my best value for the price we paid. This winter so far it has been he best course conditions I have found and I have paid 2Xs as much as this. Well done staff and management .
Fun course to play
The only criticism I have is that as a single (15 handicap) they paired me with scratch golfers and I had to be moved to another group. The group I moved to only played 9 holes (I was not informed of this) and I had to scramble to find someone to play with after i finished 9 holes. Prior planning on their part would have been helpful. Wondered if Golf Now has any policy to give a rain check for 9 holes if I was forced to play alone?
Great facility
Love, love Eagle Ridge golf facilities, all four courses are in great shape and the staff is always very helpful. Play here every time you have a chance.
Check with course
This app is great however was charging me 10$ more per golfer than the course rates. Staff was awesome and informed us it would be less to always call to confirm. Will definitely be checking course rates before booking in the future. Green were fast and rolled true! No complaints and definitely will add this to courses I plan on playing again!
Expected More From the Ratins
From the high ratings, I expected the condition of the course to be much better.
The fairways and rough were below average for a course with the positive reviews that I read. Way too much crab grass in the rough.
The layout was fine and it is a fine course for beginner to average golfers.
If you are a lower handicap, you could score very well on this course...there isn't too many places to get into trouble.
The greens are lightning fast and you do not want to go past the pin on your approach shot as most of the greens were slanted back to front.
Excellent Courses with 2 minor annoyances
The pre-shot gun briefing needs not be so pedantic. It was reminiscent of a kindergarten teacher instructing their students. We only need to be told what course we are playing once, not ten times and most in attendance appeared to be experienced golfers and would understand the necessity of pace of play. A "first warning" prior to even leaving the parking lot is a little over the top.
Secondly, there was significant rainfall the previous evening. We understand that water in the hazard is natural, however there were significant ruts in the traps which ultimately cost strokes for unplayable. I would suggest they could have been easily raked out prior to start of play.
What would normally have been an excellent review was affected only by these two minor points which can be easily rectified.
Not the course I remember....
I played it 6 or so years ago and now not nearly as goo a shape. Nice staff though
