The Estate Club
About
The Estate Club is an 18-hole course in Lancaster. At 6, 249 yards from the back tees, the course is not particularly long but it does provide an enjoyable round for players of any skill level. The layout sprawls across rolling hills that provide dramatic elevation changes throughout. Golfers are faced with tricky uphill and downhill shots as well as many shots that are completely blind. In addition to the varying undulations, there are water hazards that come into play on seven holes as well as a generous smattering of bunkers throughout. There are enough challenges to keep more advanced players entertained but a beginner wouldn't be out of their league. The Estate Club is in good company with both the Pleasant Valley and Valley View golf courses nearby.

Great potential.....needs a little work but improving
Haven't played this course for years due to the conditions. I heard it was under new ownership and the new owners were working on improvements. The course was is in much better shape than I remember from years ago. The greens needed mowed and were a little rough but I assumed the greens would take a couple years to grow back from the previous owners lack of attention. Overall the course was interestiing to play and conditions should improve if the new owners keep putting the work into it.
Mowed Field called a "Golf Course"
Hard to distinguish between fairway and rough. This course is literally a mowed field with a few ponds and streams. The greens are atleast 5/8" grass that's impossible to putt on.
Creative layout in need of some TLC
First time playing it made a more challenging as occasionally was not quite sure where to hit to...phone app was helpful. Greens were in recovery mode but could see that once back into shape in another year or so, the layout has a lot to offer. Beyond obvious green improvement, a suggestion would be to trim back some of the trees as some fairways were like hitting down a hallway. I don't mind tight but it was excessive in places. I would certainly play again even this year if price was right.
A course on the rise
I played Estate Club twice in the same week, 6/20/13 and 6/22/13 and while this course is not near perfect the value for the money was pretty good. The signs say its under new management which leads me to believe the previous owners let the course become rundown. The new owners are making visible strides to bring this course on par with many of the other nice clubs in the central Ohio area.
The tee boxes are still too hard and dry and the fairways and greens are still rough but as long as I can play during the week for 14 dollars I will be back.
The track plays longer than the posted 6300 yards and offers some challenging holes, 3, 7 and 10 immediately come to mind.
Some narrow fairways and doglegs make it worth playing.
The greens need some work and the cart paths could use 100-150-200 marks on them. A few directional signs also would help with locating some of the tee boxes.
A few narrow fairways and big doglegs make it a somewhat interesting but short course worth playing.
Updating is going on and the course will only get better.
Ohio's arm pit
I've never played an Ohio course in such poor condition. When I first arrived, there were no signs pointing to where the clubhouse is located. There's 4 buildings to choose from. This was the first sign of the lack of signage this place uses (pun intended). In fact, I played the 9th on accident, because the 7th wasn't marked. Figured it was part of the back 9 or something.
The greens are in such poor condition, I would rather putt on shag carpet. There's no sense in keep your score due to this. Unless you want to feel like you're playing on the first golf course ever created. If they lost their greens, it would be extremely useful to have a HUGE sign that says, "Please forgive us as we're growing our greens back for a better customer experience!" If they did that, I would be more inclined to return in a year to see how they've progressed. I'm so happy I paid under twenty to play here, because I would hate to pay anything over that.
The tee's are flat. There is no fairways. Well, they look like fairways, but the grass is so long, it's like playing out of the rough on EVERY shot.
If this course had bent grass throughout, I would love this course because it does have a fun layout.
some challenge
fairways was in great shape had some deep rough and the greens were pretty well washboard grass missing. outside of that was a good course. didn't have no yard markers so had to guess at the distance
Course needs work.
The course manager stated that the course sold last year and the new owner has been working to get the course in shape.
Wait and believe
The course was built in 67' and sat for a while before the new owners took over last year. The course, given the first year open for play, will be in great playin shape in the next couple years. They have made tremendous strides since last year.
