Lovely But Funky
As you can tell by my individual ratings, everything about this place was good to excellent except the course layout. Lots of short par 4's with tight landing areas, long par 3's and tricky par 5's. Would likely get better by playing it more but that doesn't help the first time player. Trying to figure out where to hit your tee shot and how far to hit it was an issue on many holes.
Very Reasonable Rates
This course is an outstanding deal on GN for around 30$. Great practice range, chipping and putting greens, clubhouse and restaurant/bar area. The greens fairways n tees are all 10 out of 10 in my books, wouldn’t want any better. Having said all that, as mentioned before no beverage cart, so throw a few “pops” in your cooler before you head out. Also, the course is pretty tight, rewards very accurate play. Not a lot of room to breath for big hitters.
course conditions
As always the course was in perfect condition and the best value in the valley
great at twice the price
Course is in great shape. Staff is friendly. That's the pro's the only neg. is they need a beverage cart
Everything you need in a golf course
Borrego Springs is not Pinehurst No. 2 or Whistling Straits. It is an oasis in the California desert with a very scenic golf course that provides a fair test golf abilities. I rated it a five because it exceeded my expectations. We played there in January. The course was in good condition; the pace of play was great; the pro shop and restaurant provide everything you need. The staff were very friendly. Definitely on my play again list.
nicely designed golf course for the average joe
This is a gem out in the middle of nowhere. Price was very attractive, the course was in real good shape, greens were perfect for speed and running true. Course was in good shape due to all the watering they must be doing. Quite often you had mud chunks after drives and iron shoots, Greens were very receptive and easy to repair. Course is a little deceiving in they have a lot of long par 4"s. But they threw in some nice short ones also. Only 3 par 5's. Par 3's were longer than most. I returned the next day to play again, because it is a user friendly course with some challenging holes.
course conditions
The course superintendent needs a lot of praise for the way this course is kept. Have played it a lot and it is always in immaculate condition. The value for play is amazing
Playing Palm Springs, Don't Miss This One.
There's a reason the feedback rating on golf now is 100%. The course is in spectacular condition, nice layout nestled amongst the mountains. Service in pro shop is professional, and the service at the bar is pleasant and great as we enjoyed the fish sandwich along with beer. Be prepared for the drive, but as mentioned in previous reviews - it's really worth it.
golfing at the springs
Course in great shape, only issue was following a group of golfers playing a small tournament. Whenever a ball was hit out of bounds they would come back to the tee box and hit another which really slowed down the pace. I guess they never heard of hitting a provisional
course condition
This course is always immaculate . Best kept course I have ever been on
Well worth thr trip!!
This was my first visit to Borrego Springs and I'm glad we went. The course was in excellent condition and the pace of play was really quick. Practice range was included and the "hot deal" was excellently priced. Made the 70 minute drive well worth it!!.
Excellent, well worth playing
Excellent, good condition, greens VERY good, well worth playing
One of the Best Courses near San Diego
Long drive from San Diego but it was really worth it.
The course was perfectly maintained and each 18 hole was so fun to play in lay-out as I played 6052 yards with blue tee. I wish the cart had GPS and that grass of some areas were mowed a little bit shorter. But it was a great course. Better to finish the play earlier If you do not want to drive back in the desert and mountain in the dark.
Worth the drive from San Diego
Warm gorgeous day. The experience matched recent reviews praising the course. Conditions were top notch. Long hitters (not me) will enjoy the several challenges. Greens were firm, trim, and dry yet the ball didn't skate for some reason. (Maybe the grass type?) Took me a while to adjust by applying greater speed. When my wife plays with me we always play executive courses, but she will enjoy this full course for the sheer surrounding beauty--even if she decides to pick up her ball and walk it to the next lie. I'll be back.
We'll be back !
Beautiful course in great condition. The mosquito nine hole not mowed as short. We will keep coming back. Love this course!
Borrego Springs
Although we played shortly after reseeding, thin golf course was in fantastic condition. Greens and fairways were in great shape. We believe they were not booking a lot of tee times, because we felt like we had the course to ourselves. Besides that the course was found to be challenging yet very playable. I did find the par 3’s to be the biggest challenge from the blue tees. Staff were very friendly but not overbearing, awesome for us....
Worth the drive
I live an hour and a half away from the course and it was well worth the drive. The course was in beautiful shape good fairways and very good greens. I will make the drive again very soon to play the course.
We loved it!
This is our new favorite course for the California South area. The course has some challenges that require strategically-placed driven balls. If done well you can score well. But if not you will pay the price with the sand traps and other hazards.
course conditions
This course is always in immaculate condition I highly recommend it and the course superintendant needs to be congratulated on how he keeps the course. The rough was a little long but to be expected as it is newly overseeded. All in all it is a great course and the best money value in the valley
