Watson One of three terrific courses at Reunion
There are three really good courses at Reunion Resort near Orlando, but the Watson Course might be my favorite. I love the look of this course, which is sort of windswept with interesting bunkers, doglegs and greens complexes. Plus, it's designed by Tom Watson, who doesn't have nearly as many courses to his credit as do Nicklaus and Palmer, who did the other two courses at Reunion. Like the other two courses, the Watson Course is also always in terrific shape.
Average condition for a quality course
We always enjoy a visit to any of the Reunion courses but were disappointed this time with the quality of the course - lots of dry patches on fairways and generally poor condition although greens were true. Also very slow and nothing done to move along the slow groups
Average Course, unprofessional staff
the proshop staff was very rude. The unprofessional staff put you in the bad mood to start the round. I wanted to cancel the round if it wasn't a prepaid round. But I did canceled the next day round at the Championsgate just because I don't want to be near the reunion area.
The course wasn't worth paying over $100.
Great course, top quality
It’s so nice to play a course with old school principles, welcoming lovely people, course in great condition, pace of play superb. It worth paying that little bit more to avoid the slow play and players with little or no etiquette on the low price courses. If you want total quality come here!
Great course - enjoyable round
I was a single and the starter helpfully let me go ahead of the two groups in front of me which I greatly appreciated. It’s a great design and was in fantastic condition. Good range and putting green and friendly staff.
My only complaint is that availability is restricted by majority of tee times being locked down for residents.
Average course with unprofessional staff
Purchased the early pre-paid teetime and didn’t bother to take my wallet. I always have enough cash in my golfbag and apple pay so I really don’t need my wallet for golf. During the check in, the club house require $5 resort fee. I never heard that before but no big deal. The problem was the resort went cashless and was only accepting credit card. No apple pay and no cash. I paid $100 for the round, but they were not let me play. I struggled for 10 minutes and a nice guy behind me offered to pay the fee for me, and I paid him back with cash. I am not sure whether I should take this as unfriendly staff or a bunch of idiots running the shop.
Anyway the course was about average. Not worth $100. More like $60 course for sure.
Fantastic Design, just not in good shape!
I played the Watson Course today. The layout is tremendous. I think the price was too much for the shape the golf course is in. It should cost around $60.00. The greens were okay; but not what you would think. Some greens had brown spots all over them. The rough looked bad on most holes. It just has been neglected. It almost appears they just do not have enough man power to take care of everything. The driving range was really bad. It had not been mowed in a while. Also, not much grass to hit range balls. It is an eye soar. The course is okay to play; but I was expecting more for the price I paid.
Answer the phone!
Played today, course in good condition. Cart died mid round and no one would answer the phone even tho it was during business hours. Had to walk back with all of my stuff in 94 degrees.
Great course
The course was in fantastic shape, even with all of the rain during the evenings. My daughter went out as a twosome and never even saw another player the entire 18 after we finished the first hole.
We will be returning to try out the other two courses on our next trip to the area.
Cool layout
Great course. Need to be very strategic when playing. Avoiding the fairway bunkers are key to putting yourself in position to score.
Picturesque
I personally loved the course. Liked that I had so many different lies, flat, below and above my feet, uphill, downhill. Greens for me were hard to read and surprisingly slower then I expected. Loved the challenge!!
Great place Great time
Great place Great time staff was amazing and course was just beautiful
First Time For Everything
Wonderful time can't wait for next year. The Watson course was amazing.
