Nice course for the money. It was a little slow out there. 4 plus hours.
The course is looking good. Few areas of rain runoff that swallows your ball at times but with the elevation changes its expected. The crew is always working and improving the course. The greens are as slick and quick as I’ve seen this year. I love quick greens! Roy, Jim and the rest of the guys are super friendly. Even on the hottest days you can count on a bice breeze. Eagle Dunes is just a great place to play because of the challenge and the staff. See you soon.
really nice greens......fast!
This was my first time playing Eagle Dunes......it will not be my last! We were fortunate to have great weather but the really nice surprise was the condition of the greens at this course. In my opinion greens determine how good golf courses are and the greens here (even with a light fertilizer top dressing!) were excellent! There were very few players on the course which added to our enjoyable round of golf! the fact that I played well and made an eagle on the 486 yard 9th hole also helped and our foursome played in under four hours!
Greens were incredible... soft and rolled true. Very impressed by those. Parts of the fairway and rough could use some work but this is a good track to check out if you haven’t been before. Unique layout. I’ll be back
Course in great shape. Our foursome had a wonderful time!
Give this course another play. I stayed away because the last time I played it was in terrible shape. Kudos to staff for bringing it back.
Nice neighborhood type of course
Nice layout and challenging enough to be entertaining and enjoyable. But pace of pl,ay was very slow
The Eagles Nest
One of Central Florida’s best courses. The layout, elevation changes, strategically placed waste areas, bunkers and water will give you as challenging course as you can handle. Throw in a 20-25mph wind just for fun and you can have near British Open conditions. Had a great day. The staff is always super friendly, helpful and care about their patrons. The staff and the challenge of the course is why I come back almost weekly. Now if I could only birdie #’s 5, 10,14 and 18 my bucket list will be complete.
This used to be a great course in great condition, but it is not back yet to its glory days. The greens were good, the fairways had some bare spots and were a little rough in spots.
It was in a lot better shape than it was several months back, and I will continue to play there.
The pace of play was really slow today.
Arrived to the course and was greeted by a friendly staff in the pro shop. The starter paired me up with another single player who I actually had played with before so that’ was nice. Noticed they are working on the bunkers with new sand throughout the course. The rest of the course was not bad being early in the spring. The greens roll nice. Pace of play was good. Will come back to play again.
This was my first time playing and I would play again as well as recommend to others. Great value for the money, friendly staff, great course layout and conditions and nice golf carts. The greens were excellent, fairways good, and tee boxes fair. Was told they had to deal with a bacteria in the soil last year so it looks like they are trending back to excellent 5-star conditions.
Rain & Drizzle didn't detract from Fun Course
Eagle Dunes is not your typical Central Florida track ---from the first elevated tee box #1 & 10, the rolling fairways are just fun to play. The course is in pretty good shape; this day really wet due to rain/drizzle, so no roll-out of T-balls or short approach shots. Played on Hot Deals special in afternoon, and there must have been a few groups ahead in an outing/scramble format, so play was rather slow for a rainy Monday afternoon. I played the front9 really well, but ballooned on the back9. I got paired with a couple of nice guys, and it was all good!
Just should not take 4.5 hours to play a round of golf
I play this course often in the winter. Layout good. Greens tricky, fast. Staff here is fabulous. They pair me with good groups, are friendly, helpful, efficient. Call this my southern course
Mittworch at Wähle Dunes
A lot of sand especially on par 5s, it even feels like runway lights. Elevation changes near the club house are more pronounced than elsewhere on the course. Greens sloping can be underestimated on the back nine due to their sloping scheme, thus take the time to make a proper assessment or you risk to see your golf ball rollback. New pin rule will not help here! Beside the greens are a bit faster on the back nine.
This course has potential but clearly needs help. Very few rakes in bunkers despite very high number of sand traps. Most bunkers full of footprints and divots. Fairways and tee boxes with some bare areas. Greens were ok but slow. Pace of play very slow despite a nice ranger going by telling us he spoke with the slow groups to speed up. Nothing changed. Not sure why it has a 4 star rating but clearly not more than a 3 at this time.
Thank you for your review and we are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. Our staff is working hard on getting the course conditions back up to par and we hope you will let us know if you ever need anything while you are here. Please come back and give us another try in the near future.
